Eminem is the best rapper of all time

That's right.  He appropriated black music and made it better.  Kind of like Elvis, so maybe Eminem is the Elvis of rap.

Granted I'm not what you'd call a rap fan.  I don't care for who is shooting who, or how many bitches you fuged.  In fact I really haven't paid attention to rap since the late 80's, early 90's.  I've heard or seen the "top" rap songs since then and none of them compare to Eminem.  It's not just his lyrics, because lyrically there are other (few) rappers that are on his level.  It's how he can tell a story and how he emotes it.   And honestly Tupac is the only one to me that is close to Eminem.

And yeah I'm bored.

Tech N9ne, when he wants to be, is the best rapper of all time, and he has been doing it longer than anyone currently.

Yes, Em is good, but he isn't the best ever.

He's probably done the best with the most adversity, but he isn't the best lyrically. He's top 5 but not #1.

It's all subjective but, to me at least, Biggie and Nas are ahead of Em too. One could argue that older dudes like KRS One, Outkast, etc. have done things better than most modern rappers too.

Not a big Eminem fan. GZA, Biggie, and Nas top him for sure. I do agree that he can paint a picture in some of his raps, just as these guys do and I think that is a must for a good rapper.  Tech n9ne is pretty good too.  My favorite, although not as mainstream, is Lord Infamous (associated w Three 6 Mafia). Lots of grimy gems that can dampen any sunny day.

also

"...leave them casket doors closed; nothing left but n**** guts.

take a paper sack; don't be at the funeral throwing up.

none of his remains, but the stains I left in his truck

sincerely yours, Lord Infamous Scarecrow."

You know nothing about Hip Hop but choose to start a thread to make outlandish, stereotypical statements about the subject.......

well, I agree with part of what you are saying....

but I wouldn't call it outlandish....as many of the most well respected rappers of all time have Em in their top 5.  Once you are in the top 5 it isn't outlandish to mix up orders.  I wouldn't have Em at the top though.  He is better than some IMO in a vaccum  that I have ahead of him but they get all time status edge on him for the path they made and set and allowed for others to piggyback and learn off of

That's why I say he's the best all time. Not many can ride a beat like he can, although many have tried. He's been a huge influence regionally on the midwest, and even nationwide with a lot of the more underground/real hip hop people out today.

He has his dumb songs and gimmicky moments, sure. But when he's really trying he kills it.

    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
