Got to tour the stadium today

I've taken a couple of school groups to do the paid tours before. I highly recommend them if you get the chance by the way.

Last week's was different. A good friend of mine works there and I've tried not to ever ask for anything because I know he gets hit up for favors all the time. But he offered and I accepted. Took my basketball team (I'm a high school varsity basketball coach) for some behind the scenes stuff. Highlights were going into the Panthers home locker room, weight room, linebackers meeting room and team meeting room. We had a few of the empolyees talk to the team about various things and tell some personal stories.

A few things we heard and saw:

-Luke really is that nice and in season is a complete game film freak. Every night until 9pm, watching film.

-Luke's hands. Said they have seen him flip a 45 pound plate and catch it with one hand.

-Cam wears crocs.

-CJ has some impressive pricey shoes in his locker.

-Michael Jordan's luxury box is the place to be on game day.

-The stuff we hear about last year's locker room being crazy right is absolutely true.

-The stuff about Thomas Davis being a great guy and a super leader isn't true. He's even better than that.

-Every employee we talked to was first class and treated my guys with the utmost respect.

Here are a few pictures (took a lot more but mostly with my guys a bit more recognizable in them so can't post those).

Is that a picture of Greg Hardy in the 76 jersey on the wall in the third pic

Yes. In the hall out from the locker room they have photos of all Panthers who have made the pro bowl or all-pro.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
