The only game the '13 team looked like trash against was the Cardinals. But i agree its not time to jump off the cliff

The 2013 team clearly had a legit defense. 2016 defense just gave up historic numbers...

the 2013 team, even after starting 1-3 had .... [what's the word I am looking for].... it's starts with a D .... oh ya! DEFENSE, that's the word. we had  defense in 2013

two of those three losses in the first four weeks of 2013 were also games that the panthers absolutely could have won right up until the end.  hell if literally one of like three or four things goes the other way we beat the bills.  we had a dominant defensive performance against the cardinals and basically took carson palmer apart even if the final score doesn't relay that very well.

so far the denver game was like that this year.  in the other two it was basically over at halftime.

Fellas....our defense had a mental lapse this game...but don't forget they weren't too shabby prior to this game.

Could kind of make that argument for the Vikings game this year. Gano makes that field goal in Denver, and we actually capitalize on a great defense performance the first quarter of the Vikings, don't give them a freebie punt return and play with a decent lead in the second half, we could be 3-1

 

I don't really remember the Cardinals game that year, the Buffalo game if I remember was a late loss against EJ Manuel.

Steve Smith dropped a TD pass on the opening drive, Lafell dropped a 4th down pass in the red zone (He was caught on the sidelines smiling about it). Cam was lighting them up early but after the drops, the game turned. I remember the defense picking off Palmer a couple times but it didn't reflect on the scoreboard.

Our defense went up against Trevor Sieman, Blane Gabbert and that guy in Minnesota... teams not known for scaring opposing defenses

are you expecting shut outs every game?  The defense kept the team in a position to win for those 3 games.  When you start asking your Defense to win games for you, you're in trouble.

We just couldn't get over the hump that season. Buffalo scoring on a last season TD, Seattle with D-Will fumbling when we were driving to take the lead, and Cam going 7-7 on the opening drive against AZ only to have SS drop a TD and Lafell drop the 4th down try.
