Well, first off they don't have any $$$$ tied up in the most expensive position on the field.  So, yeah, that's why they could make more moves.  They paid miller big money, but, they also don't have a $100 million quarterback on the books.

We had 20 million in cap space.......

How come you weren't criticizing the #1 scoring offense last year? We have the exact same offense plus Kelvin, who outside of his penalty has looked like our best WR.

Also, which half of the offense is cast offs? Newton, Turner, Kalil, Benjamin, Olsen, Stewart, Funchess or Norwell? That's 8 drafted or traded for by us. I see Ginn, Oher and Remmers, but that sure doesn't seem like half.

Oh, maybe you meant Olsen was a cast off too?

Stop being a bitch about the offense trying to blame Gettleman. All the chatter was we have the entire #1 scoring offense back and we are adding Benjamin. With Funchess and Benjamin looking awesome in camp/preseason the 3 points after half in weeks 1 and 3 combined, the 3 offensive points in 3 quarters against the Falcons and 14 total against Tampa at home is not what was expected.

Are you really sticking to the story that the entire 2015 offense plus Benjamin was a bad start?

Also, stop talking about cheap. Cam, Kalil, Stewart, Olsen and Oher are almost $60M and guess what Turner, Benjamin and Norwell are on their rookie deals. If they weren't this would be a $90-100M offense. Stupid to discuss cheap when so many guys are on rookie deals. Still already spending almost half the cap on offense.

Jesus fuking Christ, do all you just harp on one season???

We went 15-1 so we shouldn't make no changes

I've debunked this argument time and time again, and no one has responded. So here It goes again

And I have already explained this 20 times, Cam last year was an anomaly, that was the greatest season by a NFL player ( taking into account supporting cast) in the history of the league. No way in hell could Cam keep that pace up. He had 50 TD last year with, no qb in the history of the game has put up back to back 50 TD seasons.

And with all all that greatness from Cam it was clear as day we had substantial weaknesses. Our receivers were god awful, we led the NFL in dropped TD and yards lost do to drops. They were also second to last in YAC. We needed a major upgrade.

The line one was relying on max protection the entire year and even with max protection we were top 10 in sacks per attempt. And it was made up of cast offs and no names UDFA

Lets be honest for a second this roster is not talented, Gettleman hasn't done anything since drafting Kelvin and Turner that has helped this team. If we were to have a fire sale only about 7 players on this team would get attention. The rest wouldn't even get a second look. The coaches can only coach with the talent given, how is Ginn a 5th string receiver still our number 2? How are Remmers and Oher(two cast offs nobody wanted) our starting tackles?

Based on what?

According to Spotrac.com we are 4th in offensive cap spent this year.

This team went 17-1 last year and a trip to the SB.

We lost:

Norman - very good player

Harper - which most of the so called "experts" on here claimed could be upgraded by anyone

We gained:

A free agent DT - Soliai

A first round pick DT - Butler

A #1 receiver - KB - added to an offense that was the best in the league last year

Considering most of the team stayed the same I would think 10% is kind of low for the players.

Outside of Norman DG pretty much kept last years team intact.

Takes Cam's contract out the equation. Outside of Kalil, Kelvin, Turner and Olsen this offense is made up players nobody wanted. Even Funchess was a major reach.

Thats the problem right there we got complacent after a miraculous 15-1 season, meanwhile teams like the broncos actually made upgrades.

No one wants to acknowledge the lack of a 3rd down WR this season. Cotchery was not great, but he was reliable.

Couple that with the inability of the OTs to slow down a speed rusher, and you have the reason why the offense is struggling. Last season the Panthers had a good draw of teams without strong speed rushers and they had Cotchery on 3rd down.

Even if you take out Cam's contract we have still allocated a lot more cap space to offense then defense this year.

We had the highest scoring offense in the league last year and we added KB back to the mix.  How often does the number one offense add a #1 receiver the year after?

I'm not saying DG or the coaching doesn't deserve some blame but this idea that the personnel is the  main problem offensively is a stretch.

Look at my post above, we had the number 1 offense on a one in a lifetime season by Cam

The funny thing is our D has been more consistent than our offense for a longer period of time. But when we constantly draft defense nobody complains.

It's Hillarys fault yet again!

seriously it's the whole team.

DG for getting too cute this season,... Dumping all vets for the secondary, no DE, Offensive Line etc.

Coaches for this debacle, 2nd and 3rds not ready to compete or man up,... Poor play calling,.. Poor game management,...

players--- many look like they took a dive this season. short looks pissed over his contract- not going to put out for fear of injury,.. Many of them do actually. Olsen plays his heart out. Most don't right now.
