Bad Luck

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, what I'm saying is that is a perfect example of not fully understanding the situation that you are in.

OK, I can agree with that.

And yet QBs have been making that mistake since the forward pass was created.

It happens.

It SUCKS, but it happens.

Cam still makes bad choices.

It makes me sad that Carolina is the only team with a QB that makes bad choices.

I wish we had a Brady or a Brees who never makes mistakes. :(

Cam took 2 sacks instead of throwing the ball away

Those blitzes caught him square in the middle of the pocket, nowhere CLOSE to being outside the tackle box.  You can't throw that ball away.  Well you can, I guess, but the intentional grounding is going to put you right where you were going to be sacked anyway.  And, as we saw later in the game, throwing it up to some random spot under severe blitz pressure could have unintentional consequences.

You can't throw it away in the pocket. Cam Newton, as the man paid the most money, has GOT to get his damn head out of his ass and learn when to fold. It's OKAY to punt. DRILL it into his head. It wasn't 17-6 Chiefs, it was 17-6 Panthers! All we had to do was punt the ball and we win the game. Plain and simple. Despite everything else that went wrong, despite Shula being a complete and utter fuging goddamn moron whose IQ level is in the single digits, if Cam Newton doesn't throw the ball into double coverage and takes a sack instead, we win.

Has ANYONE stopped to think that MAYBE Cam was trying to throw the ball away on that INT?  MAYBE he was trying to throw the ball out of bounds, over everyone's head, and just didn't get enough on it. Looking at it, to me, it looks like he was trying to get as much on it as he could. He was just being hit as he threw, so he did not get enough on it.

Just as much of a reason as anything else thrown out there.

I think Cam was trying to throw it away. He just didn't get enough on it. After re watching the play it looks like he is trying to throw it into the stands. It didn't work that way obviously, but to me, it looked like he was cranked up to throw it a mile over everybody's head.

Cam is not the only QB to ever do something goofy. And he certainly won't be the last.

Cam still makes bad choices. On our first drive of the second half, 20 plays, Cam took 2 sacks instead of throwing the ball away,, no points,, we had to punt.. then throwing it for grabs on the interception.

Hes still and will be our best option by far.

You have the benefit of slow motion, theres no way you can throw the ball away that fast, when you do you get the interception returned for a touch down. Make up your mind either you want him to take the sack or you want him to put the ball up for grabs. Or do you want him to just fall down untouched like Tom Brady when the blitz is right in his face?

Cam himself said he was trying to give Greg a chance to make a play.

There is definitely some bad luck but I think much of it is execution. If KB doesn't fumble we'd all be praising Shula for having the balls to throw the ball with 30 seconds left.

You could literally blame Gano for 3 losses.

That's not to say that Shula doesn't suck because he does but we also don't have the right players to run the schemes we want. We need a starting caliber DE, another tackle and a RB will every down ability. DG has refused to address these issues.

See, that is the problem. You say Gman HAS refused to address the problem. Lot's of folks have said this. "That Gman just refuses to address the problem". Otherwise, we would be right there, with Dallas. Spanking that azz we would.

Do you really think Gman and Ron sat in their office, eating Bo Jangles, and said, Dude...? That SuperB owl man...yeah man...let's just fug this puppy up...that would be the coolest thing ever...

No one saw this coming. If Josh would have made a decision sooner.......

Anyone that thinks we were going to make Josh happy monetarily, is ...Josh knew we were not going to pay him what he wanted. He very well could have said "Thank you Panthers, but I am moving on" early enough for us to at least try and replace him.

There is no way Josh actually thought we were going to pay him what he thought he was worth. He drug out the negotiations, and handicapped us in the process. Bad Josh I say, bad Josh.

Well...that pretty much shoots a hole in my theory then doesn't it?

The biggest problem with Cam is he doesn't trust his teammates and I don't think he trusts the coaching staff to put the team in winning positions. That's why you get those plays where he's just trying to make something out of nothing. You see guys like Tom Brady who just fall to the ground in those situations. Cam is going to try to make a play and sometimes you get that touchdown to Dickson against the saints and sometimes you get what you got Sunday.

That Dickson TD was just ridiculous. Happened right in front of me. All Cam.

And that's the thing most qbs don't even get the chance to attempt that. Just have to take the good with the bad. My whole argument is that we didn't lose the game on that pick six.
