We haven't had a 1000 yard rusher in 6 going on 7 seasons

I believe only the Saints and Colts two pass heavy teams have longer streaks.

Since Cam has been here only twice has our starting back averaged more than 4.5 ypc (2011&2014).

Seeing J-Stew trying to get around the edge last week was pretty sad. It's time to move on. This running game is Cam or bust.

Stewart was essentially a 1000 yard caliber RB last season.  He has 989 in 13 games.

so the team benefited from what a 1000 yard rusher brings to the table for most of the season

Stewart isn't the issue this year.  Fozzy could be a 1200+ yard RB behind the Cowboys OL.  Stewart can't get outside the tackles because our OT can't run block

1000 yards force feeding him sure, 4.5 ypc is pretty much the cut off between good and average. Stewart is the latter. If we are counting missed games and technicalities than your opening up a smorgasbord of "what if" and "could of"

Stewart can't get outside cause he's 245 pounds, slow and always dealing with nagging injuries.

    • Ha ha. Are you saying that in response to the whole team, or just the Panthers? LOL  I was ninth, so I was stuck between C-Mac and someone lesser, and I really should've picked a receiver when I picked Chuba. But, YOLO. If CMC gets hurt, I hope that this San Fran writer was correct in his assertion that Guerendo is simply the better, more explosive backup. I know they signed Brian Robinson, but I think he's JAG more than anything else. Guerendo has a bit of an injury history himself, but he is 220 with legit 4.3 speed. I must admit that I took my chances with the receivers. I actually traded Chubb and Mixon for T-Mac. I'm hoping that Ollie Gordon learns the top spot in Miami and that Dont'e Thornton becomes the top dawg in Vegas. If that happens, I'll be great. Between Pearsall, Thornton, Golden, Coleman and X, someone has to break out. I also have Christian Watson in an IR slot (though I want to put something together to acquire Rashee Rice).
    • Thanks for sharing. This is fascinating stuff. I know some of us were hesitant with him due to his limited play within structure in college and the need to constantly relying on hero ball. But his lack of ownership and lack of work ethic is staggering.
    • We had 3 chances to hire harbaugh and 2 different owners passed.   We deserve every bit of misery that comes our way.  We always zig left when we should zig right.  We have had owners that thought they could outsmart the system
