Good morning my Huddle brethren. And welcome to another game day thread. Where it is all sunshine and lollipops before game time. And turns into a bi-polar (Not to be confused with bi-curious, not that there is anything wrong with that.) poofest once the game begins.

 

I will be hanging around until game time, then I will be logging off to more enjoy the game. The game day thread, although entertaining as poo, is just to darn negative once one play goes awry. So I will be needing one of you sane types to be taking notes.

 

I will need to know which Huddler is the first to:

 

Call the team, or an individual, stupid. Or such-and-such needs to go;

 

Calls Shula a stupid MFer, or says Rivera has no balls;

 

Says the NFL is out to get us, cuz they don't agree with a call;

 

Calls a catch, not a catch. Or a fumble, not a fumble;

 

Says, "Welp, that's game." after a turn over;

 

In short, I need Cliff Notes of the emotionally challenged. So I can tease them at a later time.

 

Oh, and good day, and good game to you all.

Raider fan here...i was lurking last night and just want to say you Panther fans are pretty classy fans. Someone posted a link in another thread of "What Raider fans are saying" and posted a link to a Raider site i won't bash but there are a LOT more fans on Raiderforums.com....like,  it's not even close. Just some heads up if you are really looking for the pulse of RaiderNation. I can tell you one thing we are far from confidant today...this game scares a lot of us because you have a decent defense and...well..you have Cam Newton. Imo the scariest dude at Qb in the NFL. And btw could not be more sorry about Luke. He is one of the very best in the leauge and a class act. Huge loss and i wish he was playing against us. Panthers 34 Raiders 33 on a last second fg. I hope I'm wrong but just feel it in my bones....years of sucking have done that to us. Good luck guys!

Raiders are a better team they probably win this game 8.5/10 times. 

However, if we can get out to an early lead (we're capable of that) Del Rio strikes me as a "stick to the formula" old school coach a la Rivera, Fox, etc. The Raiders might not have enough time left to make a comeback. 

We HAVE to win the TO battle to have a chance and probably need a defensive or special teams TD. 

Bold Prediction: Ted Ginn returns a punt for a TD. 

Bolder Prediction: Panthers win (probably a Janikowski miss). 

Safe money bet: Raiders cover the spread (-4). I could easily see our season slip away in this game, just too much going against us with injuries and we started the season so horribly. 

 

Edit: I can't not mention the elephant in the room. Mack and Irvin are probably are worst nightmare in terms of a defensive end combo in this league. Shula better have been watching Superbowl/Bronco film all Thanksgiving to think of some creative ways to beat their pass rush. 

Could be a long day if we let those two get going.

Cowherd has been on a march against Cam for a few weeks now. It's funny because he didn't do any of this last year.

      agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.

      I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.

      I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
