No benefit in sitting him if he's cleared. Let him go out there and build up some steam.

The benefit is him not having scrambled eggs for brains 5-10 years down the road.

I'd rather not have a Junior Seau 2.0 situation hit our franchise in the future.

After the draft Getty was asked about drafting a DT in the first, when we were deep there.  

So many people thought it was a shot to KK/Star about their upcoming contracts.  

Getty answered "we drafted a pass rusher."

Could mean a couple of things.  Could have meant Vernon is an excellent pass rusher.  Could have meant when we get Vernon ready to go inside, we can move KK to DE.
