Jamal Adams - LSU Safety

In my dream mock which gives us a choice between Barnett and Fournette, he goes #7 to the Chargers (won't call them San Diego anymore), who, because they lost to the Browns, have that choice of Adams (for now).

Pull for the Bucs, Bengals, Chargers, and ignore Eric Berry or any other real difference maker at safety which are in more supply than some other positions  and then we'll see.

The only pro ready DE in this draft is a top 3 pick. The rest are crap shoots. I say take the sure thing with a top 10 pick.

Barnett is pro ready and at only 20 has room to grow.  Best of both worlds.  If you set Reggie White's sack mark while playing in the SEC you are pro ready.  He lived in Nebraska's backfield as well yesterday.  http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/a-sour-note-huskers-have-no-answers-for-tennessee-qb/article_e355e110-cee6-11e6-86f1-e767333b850b.html

He won't be around when we pick. One of the things that makes him so great is his situational awareness and ability to line the secondary up.  He would indeed be a day one starter, and would give us the leader in the secondary we need.  Likely will go to TN or San Diego.

I love Fournette, but Adams is the LSU player I would rather have on the Panthers.

Surprisingly, many mocks are having him at 17 and such now. Barnett is the one who may likely not make it to us.

I seriously don't know. An edge rusher who has the ability to be an every down DE foe us in the first, or an immediate impact at safety.

I do think safety is our biggest need, and we could likely get Adams. Barnett is another guy I'm looking at.

Ugh why are there so many good players to choose from now.

    • It depends on what version of bad we are getting. Can't have the locker room tearing apart over it.
    • I think that depends more on how high our pick is. If we have the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd pick i think we are drafting a QB rather than shopping FA market for a QB1. Curious if we’d be reluctant to start a rookie QB week 1 though.
    • Hurney 2.0 and Fitts were so bad I don't know if it was intentional or they were that abysmally clueless. Fittershits panicked repeatedly being on the back end of positional runs while Hurney couldn't evaluate anyone outside of the 1st.  I can't figure out why Plummer still has a jersey. There's no reason. Dalton brings nothing to the table. If another QB gets cut that has given a glimmer of anything better than what we have, we should look, and that goes for every position.  I cant get over how much different this team could have been with a competent GM and having accepted the Rams offer for Burns. This franchise could have gone in a totally different direction.
