Toledo TE Michael Roberts: "He's 6-5, almost 270, and he runs better than that. He's got surprising speed and hands. I liked him on tape and I liked him out here today."

Also said Carolina interviewed him after practice.

Anyone seen him play?  Thoughts

No, but I will be looking at him closely.

Never heard of him, but always appreciate the little tidbits this time of year.

Saw him play against Appalachian State in the Camelia Bowl. He had one TD which he caught short and simply threw the smaller defenders trying to tackle him to the ground. Other than that he was really quiet which was likely due to the offensive game plan of trying to attack App's zone scheme down the seams. App's defense was pretty fast this year which wouldn't leave room for them to utilize him up the middle of the field as the ends would most likely have hit home by that point.

Michael Roberts, TE, Toledo

Prepare yourself around Combine time.  You are likely to hear significant media talk about the ridiculous size of Michael Roberts hand measurement that might break Combine records.  Moving on, in a very strong looking tight end class for the 2017 draft, Roberts is not going to be discussed among the top prospects at the position, but is going to be a very useful pick up in the later rounds.  It may surprise to know that Roberts is leading all TEs nationally in touchdown receptions, having grabbed 12 scores in just 10 games so far this season, which is in fact good enough for tied-6th overall, wide receivers included.

According to the official Shine Week physical results, Roberts is 6'4 and weighs 259 pounds.

Fun tidbit is that he has the largest hands at Shine week with 11 5/8 inches. I don't know how much that correlates to being able to catch the ball but the man has monster hands.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
