The Jets would likely take a day 3 pick.  Was drafted under a previous regime and player and team need a change of scenery.  Two more years on the rookie deal w/the 5th year option.

Add to the MYRIAD of safety options over sitting on hands/simply hoping Adams is there at 8 and therefore handcuffing our draft options.

Trade Devin Funchess

Don't understand why they would, but if they take Adams or Hooker at 6, then I get it. Previous regime's selection, and maybe Bowles desires a player like Adams or Hooker more.

I'd def take a shot on him though. He's equal to or better than Cyprien and just below Jefferson for me in FA.

I would trade Devin Funchess for him.

Every link you posted is a media member making a suggestion. None of them are evidence it is likely.

No, one of them was of his own comments.  What else is there?  The team itself is never going to play its hand publicly before making a move.  The smoke around this guy's trade or release is as thick as it gets.  If it's not likely I don't know what is.

Why trade a mid round pick when there is a huge FA class?

I said earlier in the thread a Day 3 pick, which they'd obviously take at this point.  The reasons are that he's still on a rookie deal w/5th year option, don't have to compete with other teams, and it wouldn't count against us in next year's comp pick formula.  I still throw the moon at Berry, but if the Chiefs retain him (which would deserve a lengthy thread of HOW they'd be able to in its own right), this is firmly in the list of other options, and would allow $$$ to be spent elsewhere.

Safety Calvin Pryor showed a ton of promise when he was selected by the New York Jets back in the 2014 NFL Draft but hasn’t done much of anything. So far in his career, Pryor has totaled just 128 tackles, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions. Needless to say, he hasn’t lived up to the hype he generated during his college days at Louisville.

The defensive secondary of the Jets has easily been one of the major weaknesses on the team. Opposing teams were able to turn average and even below average quarterbacks and receiving targets into superstars.

Everyone knew it was relatively easy to score on the Jets by airing it out since blown assignments and missed tackles defined the Jets defensive secondary all throughout the season. For a safety like Pryor that had a rep for being a hard-hitting defensive back capable of defending anyone, he’s been a major letdown in his tenure with the Jets.

Yes really.  Kurt Coleman was a 7th round pick that was thrown to the curb by three teams before 2015.

The video earlier in the thread shows him making multiple plays against the game's best.  I still don't think he should be option 1 or even 2 but he shouldn't be dismissed, and is obviously attainable.
