Why did the NBA not veto the Cousins trade?

I was thinking back to when the Lakers were set to acquire Chris Paul and the NBA veto'ed the trade because "it wasn't fair for all parties involved". The Cousins trade is the worst trade I can remember off the top of my head. I know Stern and Silver go about business a bit differently but holy poo they let the Kings fug them selves hard.

Tinfoil hat time: fug New Orleans. The NBA blocked the CP3 trade saying teams needed to give NO more value in return. Didn't bring up Houston really who were also involved in the deal. The deal that the Clippers offered many argue was a worse deal for NO besides the financial side of things. The Lakers were apparently dumping 40mill in contracts while still getting CP3. Add in the fugery of after losing CP3 in 2011 the NBA gifted NO the number 1 pick in the 2012 draft after Charlotte just suffered through the worst record in NBA history. Now, Charlotte loses All Star weekend and the NBA gives it to NO (this Allstar weekend was terrible imo). While All star weekend is going on the NBA allows one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history to go through. WTF NBA, go fug yourselves. What is your fuging love affair with New Orleans and why do you hate Charlotte so much.

really fug the nba- they were SELLING the team and magically new orleans ends up with the number one pick and the best prospect in decades

that was rigged New Orleans was getting the top pick no matter what that year, it was a race to number two.....which actually means we would have gotten that top pick had the nba not rigged it

We had the worst record in NBA history (even with a strike to start the season) we should have had number 1 pick. That's why I hate the lottery. How can bad teams get better if the worst one doesn't pick first?

The NBA can't block trades, the only person you have to blame for Boogie being in NOLA is Vivek and Vlade. That being said, I still really doubt they'll be any good, they have like 5 NBA players on their roster. Just because 2 out of the 5 are incredible doesn't really mean much, you need some depth.

Oh and the NBA blocked the Chris Paul trade because they owned the team at the time.

    • This is from 5 months ago. It was one or the other. Trade for one or draft one. We apparently called the Jets about Wilson. We also talked to the Seahawks about Metcalf. Drafting our own guy was the best course of action given the required investment. Regardless now is the time for Bryce Young to produce. We are fourth amongst all teams in cap spending on the OL. Back to back first round picks at WR and multiple young TE draft picks now. Very solid and respectable backfield. New pieces across the defense. The time is now.
    • That was just the worst time to have their worst game of the season. One key deal was the broncos guess the Panthers would NOT change any plays or flow to the game. Another key point overlook that bronco defense was truly one of the best in the NFL history. It was the best defense the Panthers faced that year, by far. They were not ready for it, but broncos were ready for the Panthers. Mix in that bad luck, poor refs showcase, and this is the golden boys last game........ Panthers needed to win by 20 and the broncos defense was not going to allow that.  Panthers were the faviotes and I believe they also thought that it was going to easier than them destorying NFC playoff teams as they marched to the SB. I've heard darin Gantt say the play calls were to give remmers help, but for some reason the team never did it. During the year they never had that problem, so maybe never practiced giving help via TE/RB, or WR chip. Cam was superman that year, no need for any adjustments...... Until you meet a legendary defense with studs at all levels, Think about it, Peyton was throwing wingless dunks for the whole season, the defense had to carry his corpse to the SB. That's how good they were, no many defense are able to get to the playoffs and win a SB without decent QB play. If you recall the beginning of that denfese took Tim Teblows and his non-throwing arse to the playoffs couple years before. That's insane the level of defense needed to overcome.
    • Who cares if he paid for such small benefits out of his own pocket? The NCAA is a joke. They need to be offering such anyway, especially for Uber rides (which actually seems like a good idea).
