Fournette has been clocked at a top speed of 22.90 mph in a game. The only NFL ball carrier who has been clocked at a higher speed is Tyreke Hill at 23.24 mph. Ginn's top speed? 22.44 mph.

Yes, Fournette has been clocked at a higher top speed in a football game than Ted Ginn Jr. Dude can RUN.

Problem is if Fournette does run in the 4.4s as a 240 back, Jaguars and Jets will definitely be more likely to take him.  For Panthers to get Fournette we would need in the 4.5 range.  Teams would be labeled as crazy if they past on a "once a decade" type running back listed at 6'1 240 running a 4.4.  But worse case Jags or Jets do draft him that just drops more DL and Safeties to us.

I think if Zeke didn't go to the cowboys and had a poo season last year, we wouldn't have to worry about Fournette dropping to us or not. But now that he exploded its going to change how teams look at drafting an RB high in the 1st. Even if Fournette is a different style RB than Elliot and he's not going to have anywhere near the Oline that Zeke runs on either.

Perine and Foreman both weighed in at 233.
Shocked figured both would weigh in more than Fournette. Want to see what Fournette runs now. The combine record for a RB atleast 240 is a 4.53, still think he smokes that. Still expecting a lower 4.4 range for him.

I'll be interested to see what Perine puts up on bench. I'll go ahead and say he sets the all time record for RBs.

No he wont

I'm seeing that the all time record for RBs, discounting FBs,  is 32 reps. I think the FB record is 36. I think he does 32+ easy unless he was dropping weight for the 40 time or something. I think they lift tomorrow so lets come back and revisit this.

It wouldn't be shocking if Perine puts up some really good numbers on the bench. He has the right build to do it. Barrel chested guys with shorter arms tend to do best on the bench. It's why I think it's a bit overrated, especially for edge guys - OTs, DEs, etc.. Those long armed guys that you want on the edge are at a natural disadvantage on the bench. It's just a matter of physics. They have to move that weight a lot further than a barrel chested short armed guy.

It's not a coincidence that Larry Allen was a legendary bench presser. Yes, the guy was insanely strong, but he also had the ideal build for that particular lift.

Perine does too.
