How Would You Feel About John Ross at #8?

I hate to play Wow ..

It's embrassing how some a player who runs a fast 40 jumps up ppl draft boards .. When they weren't even thought of before then...

Quick word of advice if you thought of the player as a 2nd or 3rd round pick before the combine based on what you saw from him in college.  No "workout" should change your mind that much...

Last some of you do this every year after combine workouts..

Patterson, Hill,  Heyward-Bay, Periman remember??

This guy has been a 1st rd prospect for a while. I swear some ppl on here wouldn't know talent if it slapped yalls mama in the face!

The 2nd round thing is in general to all prospect..

And he may have been discussed in the 1st round but he was never discussed as a top 10 pick...

After transcending the 40 yard dash I'd say he is now. He needs to be strongly considered, a generational talent no doubt. I also like the underdog story that comes with him, will keep that competitive fire lit.

Wow this site will fall for every new shiney nickle they see..

I'm just going to say no no no no no!!

He is a slot WR ..

No matter what your imagination can come up with.. In this league he is a slot WR.. He's small with durability issues.. Just like DJax, Tavon Austin and other small speed demons have found out... You can't outrun everybody and sooner later you will take a big hit.. No slot WR is worth a top 8 pick especially in this draft..

People do a exercise .. Look at the top slot WR's in the and see where they were drafted please before posting on this topic...

Wes welker, Julian Eldelmen, Cruz, Tyreek Hill..

While I'm completely against taking Ross at #8 (primarily for health concerns; you just can't take him that high), just because you are small doesn't mean you are a slot receiver.  Ross could definitely play on the outside.

DeSean Jackson, for example, isn't a slot receiver.  Neither are guys like Ginn and Cooks.  All play on the outside.  There is a lot more to being a good slot receiver than being small/fast (which is why Fitzgerald is an amazing slot guy since Arians put him there).

So if your reasoning for not taking him is because he's a slot guy, then I think you are misguided in your beliefs.  The reason to not want to take him at #8 should be almost primarily because of his health, or if there is something he does on film that you don't like.

Some of you ppl are straight up liars..

Be real at no point were you even thinking Ross at 8 is a good idea until he ran 4.22..

I atleast understand the love for LF he has been on ppl minds for years and the thought of him actual being here at 8 is something that has been established because during the whole process he has been a top 10 pick in everybody mind..

I say slot becuse that's the best position for him to be productive not just size and speed..

He isn't a number 1 WR imo.. There are certain routes i would never want him to run .. A number 1 i don't have that concern.

Imo he is a slot or a number 2 WR.. The reason not to take at 8 is healthy, durability, his size, the fact his college tape never had him even close to a top 10 pick.. Plain and simple nothing before the 40 yard dash told you this was a top 10 player in this draft...

There looks to be better and safer talent at positions of greater need in this draft at #8. Add in size and injury issues (while running in underwear at an incredible speed) and I am left underwhelmed as a first round pick. 2 knee surgeries before playing a down in the NFL? Yikes that's a huge red flag.

Dave will have most if not all of the initial roster filled out by need before the draft. Last year was the nonstandard deviation of that plan. If Dave's eye gives this dude a pass over the other guys available at #8, I will be pissy for about 24 hours and then remember that I couldn't hold his sweaty nipple shorts up when it comes to talent evaluations.

The fact is, everyone knew that he was fast and explosive. The questions concerning Ross always revolve around health and durability. His performance at the Combine didn't allay any of those fears.

Now, his medicals...what do they say?

Like I said before, there are other receivers without the injury history that may may end up as much better values: Chris Godwin, Zay Jones, Taywan Taylor.

A run first offense doesn't fit the best pure running back in this draft? lol

He's an I formation RB and we run out of shotgun the majority of the time which is his biggest weakness.

Honestly Fournette is in the wrong era of football for his skill set.

I understand you can't recognize elite talent when you see it Bruh. You can post all the TIP gifs you want and I'll still be right.

I'll take the opinion of Snoop, who's known him since he was 9, and D Jax who is better than any WR we've ever had not named Smitty. Don't be oblivious, that type of speed is rare and can change a game in an instant, I could never understand why you wouldn't want that homie.
