Ginn says Drew Brees can "extend his career"

On a (slightly) related note, Ginn's old jersey number (19) has been given to Russell Shepard. So to anyone worrying that Shepard would get the same number he wore in Tampa (89), breathe easy.

In other numeric news, looks like Lou Young gave up his number 36 to his other brother Darrel. Lou is now sporting the stylish #25.

Wow, did not know Lou and Darrel were brothers.

Cam extended his career and got him two good contracts. The guy had been written off as a WR before initially coming to Carolina.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ginn is a great fit for N.O.? I mean, we had the perfect offense and the perfect QB for Ginn to shine. We had an OC who loves downfield routes and a QB with a huge arm. N.O. has neither.

Watching Ginn try to play the slot late last year was all the confirmation I needed to know we needed to move on. Now he gets to use those same routes on every play. Good luck NO and more power to you if you can get more out of him.

Throwing a catchable ball is a good thing. Making it more difficult for your receivers to catch because you can't or won't put touch on a throw is not a good thing.

You should watch more games and you would see how ridiculous you sound. Ginn has let perfect balls fall through his hands on many occasions while Olsen nor Tolbert had problems catching Cams throws at different levels.

Sean Payton understands route concepts and route coordination infinitely better than Mike Shula.

Payton's play designs are brilliant.

The key to that happening successfully for Sean Payton though is not to use crappy, lazy route-runners.

Ginn is done.

In the Saints scheme he is just a dude that runs fast and isn't a good WR.  Brees prefers hands and someone that runs good routes over what Ginn is IMO.  He can make a guy with good hands and that can run all the routes productive.

The drop drop big catch mentality of Ginn doesn't fit in NO IMO.

Saints fans on twitter are unbearable over this. They're already borderline annoying but my God. They're acting like they stole Ted from us and he was an all pro, pro bowl WR. It's quite sad.

Just remind them that they lost a much better WR than they gained.

I believe Sean Payton and Drew Brees expect Ginn to work over Bradberry and Worley.

The Panthers do not have any CBs who can match up with Ginn.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Please do make a list for me all of the NFL cornerbacks that Ted Ginn has "worked over" in his NFL career.

The ONLY place he's ever been a success is in Carolina in an offense that does its best to set conditions for the old-school dinosaur play-action that get half-trick ponies (blazing speed, zero hands) like Ginn open.

Not a single defensive coordinator in this league goes to sleep in a sweat at the thought of Ted Ginn, you silly person.

I'm not arguing Ginn didn't have iffy hands. He dropped a lot of well thrown balls, he also dropped balls thrown so hard they bounced 10 yards off his chest. You know what helps guys with iffy hands? Passes thrown with appropriate velocity.
