Mel Kiper: Do-it-all Christian McCaffrey 'would be great pick' for Panthers at No. 8

TJ Logan...Would be gravy...can do what CM does and afford us the better options in first 2-3 Rds at other positions...speed and value...He's going to be a solid multifaceted player...

I love TJ Logan, but he can't carry McCaffrey's jockstrap. And yes, I think Logan will be a solid 3rd down back and return man.

Value...makes him a better prospect for us...good thing jock strap carrying isn't required...

Too many people obsess over the concept of value in the draft. If you get a great player, you got great value. That idea "value" gets shot to poo if someone nabs Logan before you can draft him.

At this point I'm good with Cmac.. We are going to be a 2 back offense anyway.. We can get Stew's replacement next year  and cut Fozzy..

Or we can get mccaffey + James Conner or Mccaffey + Samaje Perine . Rb problem solved for a while . Although we'd probably have 5 rb on the roster at that point .

I agree obsessing isn't helpful but there is a difference between obsessing and recognizing...the point is you can get what CM offers w/o wasting the 8th ...I don't see CM as that much of a difference maker at 8... you can get similar production from  Logan...

I just don't think that's accurate. I love Logan, but no.

There are definitely guys I'd take over McCaffrey at #8, but if you're looking for that Marshall Faulk type of RB to feature in the passing game almost as much as you do in the running game then no, I don't think you can get what McCaffrey offers in other players. Not saying that I think McCaffrey is Marshall Faulk. If I did, I'd be screaming for him at #8. But, I think he can be that style of RB.
