Got anything on blitz pickups?

If it's green dog blitz' he'll need some time. He can second guess in these situations and fail to make an adequate block.

Otherwise he's pretty decent overall in pass protection.

See this is why I think cam will have a long career as long as we can keep him healthy, a QB's career ends when their arm can't swing it anymore.

Remember how McNabb used to always throw short, when his arm went he had nothing left at all, our bonus with Cam is that he's always had a super strong arm, even when he eventually drops off some he's still going to be good for a while.  We just got to keep him healthy!

Cam is also not even 30 yet . I doubt you'll have to start worrying too much about his physical decline until at least 5 more years

Receiving: 9.5/10

A big part of McCaffrey's value is the receiving game. He runs a mean Whip Route (a stop-start route across the middle that baits the defender into thinking the receiver will reverse field at the top of the stem) and he routinely finds the open zones. Although he has difficulty with high-velocity targets thrown over his head in the short range of the field,

That is why I'm saying, Cam and McCaffrey need to work on this even outside of regularly scheduled practice. If Cam can hit these short throws to McCaffrey with regularity, we could be unstoppable

There has been a worry for a lot of Panthers fans that Cam is not accurate enough with short passes to run a more modern offense. I think the Panthers have thrown down the gauntlet and decided to test and see if Cam can do it, and not just keep throwing the deep stuff over the top. It's one thing to ignore Cotchery or washed up Tolbert, but if you ignore McC and keep chucking it deep there's a big problem. The other fear is Shula and his ability win a chess match against DCs using our new shinny pieces. So what happens? We don't know if Cam can make enough of the shorter passes to make this work, but have never tried it before, so no one knows. Maybe he can do it. Then there is the Shula factor. Can he really take the reigns and modernize this offense and win? I don't know. He'll be fired if he can't, and soon.

If I were Cam I'd be throwing to him every spare minute asap. It's clear that MCM isn't gonna drop passes as long as you can get the ball to him. Cook up some chemistry guys.

Cam's not going to be throwing till training camp most likely....unfortunately there won't be but so much time for them to work on timing...but it will come.

    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix had only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
