Very possible.

Barnidge has just finished 2 seasons where he caught 79 and 55 balls respectively.

He's also an unrestricted FA.

Signing Barnidge would be a helluva pickup.  Better than any late round rookie.

I would have taken a rookie especially with Salary Cap and upside but I will settle for Barnridge if it's possible

Dickson is bad because he offers nothing on the field as a receiver or blocker, he typically gets blown off the line of scrimmage allowing his defender to disrupt the play. At this point they will have to sign Barnindge or waiting for team cuts to find a TE, I don't want to take another Beau Sandland or sign a Scot Simonson.

For all we know, Barnidge may have already been contacted expressing interest in coming back....could've changed our mindset on TEs this draft.  We very well may have traded up for Butt or Leggett, etc...not as pressing of a need if we grab Barnidge on the open market. Use these picks to shore up other positions, no issue.

Barnidge only made $1.5M last year.

Whatever the vet minimum is this year, I'm betting we could get him for not much more than that.

I think a lot of people are also assuming that we're still going to run tons of double TE sets after this heavy investment in offensive weapons and OL. I'm not so sure that's the case.

Those small WR's are effective when you have solid power running game

I still don't think that should've changed our mindset. Barnidge is over 30 and we still could've added someone younger to groom. And how is Barnidge's blocking?

Barnidge was pretty much his whole job when he was with the Panthers before, right?
