McCaffrey, Moton, and Armah sign their contracts

For me, this just goes to show the enthusiasm of our draft picks. I think we've got guys who want to be here.

i remember some people were concerned about drafting McCaffrey at one point because he's a big Broncos fan and probably didn't like us. I've kept that in mind since we picked him and I'm really glad to see that he appears genuinely thrilled to be here in particular. Partly it's because we have his favorite coach, but I think he's a fan of his teammates, and as he said, this organization in general is a good one, despite what ex-players who felt hurt being released said. I keep remembering the rumor that a top 10 pick didn't want to go to the jags because of how much they suck. No player will admit to that, but you know these top guys are thinking about that in the lead up. They aren't worried about being picked, they know they'll be drafted. Unless they're just money hungry and want to be a top pick, I'm sure they fantasize more about being on a quality team with players they look up to. This draft, Carolina was definitely one of those teams that guys wanted to go to.

we've come a long way since the rumors of Andrew luck not wanting to come here because he was told we're a bad, poorly run organization. We have the coaches, gm, Mr Richardson, and our locker room leaders to thank for creating such a special atmosphere here.

proud of the team and looking forward to the boost our guys' enthusiasm for being together brings.

Nope, the issue wasn't paying a bonus nor was it the amount of the bonus.
The issue was how and when the bonus would be paid.

The chargers didn't want to give him the bonus up front, so in turn he wanted the bonus guaranteed if he got cut in year 4.

The chargers didn't want to do either. Either pay the man up front, or guarantee the bonus. Every team has done either way since the new CBA. This was the charger first top 5 pick since the new CBA and didn't want to pay it.

The chargers are known for being cheap

Exactly what I said.

NEITHER SIDE had an issue about the bonus amount.

The disagreement was how the bonus was to be paid.

Thanks for agreeing with me.

only race here is your race to the bottom with the other geriatric poo posters exctited for the "right kind" of player.

Like O.J. Howard?  Because that's the guy I wanted.

I stated clearly many times before the draft I didn't want to draft a running back.  AFTER a running back was drafted, however, yes... I got excited.

Sorry for "racing to the bottom" for wanting to draft the "right kind" of huge, fast, talented African-American tight end originally.

Of course, the real "race to the bottom" are the guys who don't like McCaffrey *because* of his skin color.  Here's looking at YOU, kid.

That has to be a record for us in signing everyone so quickly?

Probably one of the many benefits of (1) the rookie salary cap and (2) having a GM that has finally gotten us out of salary cap hell.

    • I don't believe it's as easy as saying that anyone believes that Rico had the 10th best day on offense. Grades are done in a vacuum inasmuch as they can be. By their very nature, skill positions are always going to account for more "production" in reference to stats, and RBs perhaps even more than WRs because they touch the ball more. You can't look at PFF's grading system, or any football grading/grading system (like perhaps Football Outsiders or Next Gen Stats), so simplistically. If a player has an excellent day, relative to his position, relative to his assignments, and relative to his number of snaps, then he should be graded highly. It's up to the reader (or the analyst, if you will) to put what you're seeing into context, and that's not only in relation to the grades, but the general situation (like whether a player is playing injured, who they're playing with or against---the general situation). Even the fact that (presumably) PFF or news outlets put out a list of the highest and lowest grades, that doesn't mean that said players were the most impactful of the day, it just means that they did or didn't do their job the best, based upon a certain set of parameters. PFF is a part of life for football analysts, talking heads, execs, coaches, players, and even fans (even if indirectly), all to varying degrees. It is a tool that is used by all 32 teams. Obviously it's not viewed so dismissively by franchises as a whole. Execs obviously don't look at it as a bunch of bozos making sh¡t up on the fly. Fans can berate it or swear by it, but it isn't going anywhere.  The only thing that I can tell you is that perspective and context matters.
    • Im not big in to PFF but their guys were raving about his blocking along with our other skill players in the run game. https://youtu.be/D4kL_N97cFQ?si=sJWSZCUA1bj5otyx
