according to the poll on the front page..can someone please explain to me how you think hes going to do that?

Because the running game will start clicking, the QB will be efficient, the Special Teams will gain positive field position, and the Defense will bend but not break... soon.

He is the same guy who turned around a 1-7 team to finish 7-9 after going 6-2 in the second half.

So yeah he can turn it around. Will he this time? Hard to say at this point. If we are 2-6 at the turn we are in serious trouble. If we are 4-4 then he surely could.

7-9 doesn't cut it. This is SUPPOSED to be a playoff team. anything less than a playoff appearance, is a failure, and will be 3rd time after a playoff bid that we didn't make it. inconsistent. granted, we have 13 games left. we could easily go 3-3, but after that......:mad2:

Game 1- All three aspects played terrible, Offense, Defense, Special Teams

Game 2- Offense played well, running/passing game was working. Defense and Special teams played terrible.

Game 3- Defense and Special Teams played well, Offense sucked.

The next three games will be very telling vs three winnable teams. If the Panthers cannot put a complete game together, in all three aspects of the game, then there really is no chance to turn anything around.

187 is the police code for murder

It is also the name of the California Proposition which tried to keep illegal immigrants from getting social services.

It is also the combination of the jersey numbers of Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad and AJ Feeley.

In math it is:

Songs

Special Teams will always suck as long as Crossman is here. I am just going by the fact we didnt give up a return TD or a block kick, but your right the coverage is bad and blocking on kickoffs is, well.....lets just leave it at that

Special teams was good last year. Our return average was among the league leaders, field goal kicking and kickoffs were solid, and we fixed the punt blocking problems after the first tampa game.

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
