What we get with Pryor is cheap potential.  The mindset, like it was with Oher and IS with Kalil, has to be that our system can unlock what he was projected to be.  We had seen what Boston could do with the start in our system (one that was built to accommodate a weaker DB group)... it would be nice to see what he can bring.... and it wouldn't cost us crap.

I'd still give our 6th for their 7th next year and Pryor.

Why in the world would you do this?

They're going to cut him.  He was a high round pick, so NOBODY is going to pick him and his contract up off of waivers.

In other words, soon enough he's going to be an UFA and the Jets will be responsible in whole for his contract.

So why in the world would you give up a draft pick for him?

By all means though, after he passes through waivers, do what you can to bring him in on a vet-minimum.

Trade a pick and assume a first round salary for a guy who hasn't played well and doesn't even want to compete. Sounds great!

To ensure we get him.  I can see why giving anything at all may make people uncomfortable at this point, but it ain't much.  I personally don't believe there's anyone that could argue he's not one of the top 60 strong safeties in the world in 2017 and an upgrade in our two deep.

A rookie late first round salary for one year, not the 5th year option salary.  Peanuts.
