Game of Thrones Season 7

I think you misconstrue my condemnation for those asking for more of the things that have ruined Walking Dead with defending it.

Both shows have gone horribly downhill.

BTW, Walking Dead's source material is better than GoT's.

Which reminds me, I have a new Walking Dead comic to read.

uhhh I don't really think anyone should consider criticism "bashing"

There are terrible moments/acting/writing/etc. choices on both shows, and both are still absolutely great in their own right.

I still say nothing on TV is better than GoT. Fargo might come close at times, but other than that, scripted TV is a pretty dead art. TWD is still absolutely good for what it is.

I think people confuse criticism with bashing because they just can't handle anyone saying anything negative about something they love. I'm not directing that at you in particular, uncfan888, just lots of people in here.

Hell, I started watching The 100 on Netflix because I caught a part of an episode live on TV one night and was surprised at the quality. Being a CW show, I had pretty low expectations. But I have to say, even they get some things very right at times, even if they have some bad in there too. It is still overall a good show and I'm not embarrassed to say I watch it. I'm still only in season 1 but it could hold its own with shows like TWD and others that do well.

GoT is just on another level, so obviously purists (book and show) are going to hold it to higher standards.

Basically, its like being a Metallica fan until they had the whole Napster thing and you figured out how pretentious and douchey they were and that they just didn't care about writing good music anymore.

I can totally relate to people's criticisms of GoT and TWD and other shows that have canon outside the TV universe. At the very least, just agree to disagree. Turning everything into a pissing contest or attacking someone just means the troll game worked, lol.

GoT is the best show on TV right now in my opinion. For me it's up there with The Wire & The Sopranos.

I binged the 100.  It is a good mindless watch. plus it has lots of hot chicks.

It's definitely the best right now and I think with a couple more good seasons it'll definitely overtake The Wire.   There is a TON of good TV out right now and in the past 10 years so that's some tough competition.

Also The 100 might be the best sci-fi show on TV, maybe in the last five years.   If you like season 1, it only gets better, much better.

there simply isn't a show I can recall that has legit movie quality production like GOT.

I mean, take any epic battle...like Battle of the Bastards.  Visually, GOT just does some flat out awesome things for TV (and yeah, I know its not TV....it's HBO)

I'm sure GoT used any other normal shows season's worth budget on that episode alone lol

I read all but one of the books before the show came to screen. I liked the books but they are very long and so detailed that I welcomed the show to bring back some of those things I had forgotten. I think the show and the books compliment each other very well.

Like Cary said... I really hope this has opened the door for studios to come in and do good things for other fantasy series.

I'm anticipating both Pat Rothfuss' The Kingkiller Chronicle and Scott Lynch's The Gentleman Bastards film/screen adaptations, and I hope they are the next big GoT comparable productions.
