Gettleman found more consistent players then hurney but hurney found more elite players . take it as you want but id rather have the elite players then good players

That's a lazy  comparison. Now go and look at rounds 2-7 in all of Hurney's drafts and look at all the stupid trades he made that screwed up the next 1 or 2 drafts in advance.

look at daves too trading all those picks for funchess wasting a 2nd on kony ealy when we could have had jarvis landry , wheres bene and tre boston? what about zach sanchez? wasting a first rd pick on a dt when thats our strongest group other then linebacker? dave sucked just as bad as hurney  only thing he did was be cheap and did it bring us a superbowl no

maybe if he wasnt so cheap when it came to tackle we would have won the superbowl but instead remmers got cam killed

What tackle was he supposed to sign or draft? We were actually in pretty decent shape as far as starters anyway. Most teams would have struggled just like we did with that many injuries to one position group. As far as GM's go, it's not even a close race. Gentleman was way better than Hurney.

Norwell?

Coleman?  (ok, not a "find" but he was a great fit in our system, took his play up another level when he got here.  )

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
