They say home team automatically gets +3 before the rest of the factors go into placing odds on a game.  And of course the old saying "Any Given Sunday" but I think the 2017 Panthers want to come out and make a statement that 2016 was a fluke not 2015.

For me, this is why we don't open our playbook too much during the preseason.   No need to feed info to other teams.

This may not be a rivalry like us and any one of our NFCS foes but as far as outside the division.  SF is our biggest rivalry. They hates us and we dislike the crap out of them.

We need to start the season off right and beat the poo out of SF and IMO we do.

I used to hate SF from our NFC West days, but now they are pretty far down my hate list.

Sorry, but week 1 worries me. West coast against a largely unknown team.

I won't be counting it as a guaranteed win anytime soon.

A Little nervous about that as well.  Rivera has never started the season off hot other than the 15-1 season.

He is 2-4 in week 1 games,

the 2 wins were vs Jacksonville and a 2-14 NFL's worst Bucs.  Traveling across the country, with a new head coach who is pretty familiar with us from coaching with falcons.  Its going to be no cake-walk

Shanahan's leading that team. His work made the Falcons offense near unstoppable with how he could get any player wide open for an easy pass by Ryan.

Would not be surprised in the lightest to see an unexpectedly close game.

That or we'll blow them out. Especially if it takes a while for the 49ers offense to get used to the playbook much like the Falcons struggled with.

Took 2 years for that to happen. Ryan's first year in that system was awful.
