Our only loss during 15-1 was to a pretty bad Atlanta team

Not even close.  A .500 Falcons team in a house of horrors for Panthers fans that thank goodness no longer exists.  This 49ers team is many notches lower than the 2015 Falcons.

We'll see. That's the funny thing about the NFL, things can change very, very quickly. Sure, I expect the 49ers to he one of the worst teams in the league but we'll see what happens.

Shanahan is familiar with the the Panther's defense, but the Panther's should also be familiar with his offense. Brian Hoyer is a decent starting QB, Carlos Hyde is reportedly improved. They have a good receiver in Garcon, but not much across from him.

It's a long trip for the Panthers, in the stadium of the Super Bowl loss, but going west is easier than going east.

Brian Hoyers arm is so week it makes Chad Pennington look like Brett Favre...

Excuses. The point is that unexpected results happen every week in the NFL.

But also true.  Also following the OBJ/JNo incidents/roller roaster win in New Jersey. Perfect storm.

Week 1 should be nothing but pure ass kicking.

What excuse are gonna be used if we lose to SF?

All I know if we lose to a talentless team like SF you better brace yourself, this is the easiest game we have all year

Yea but they will be ready to play. NE is never unprepared.

Of course they will.  Vegas, and most of the experts will pick them.  And they may win.  I wouldn't bet on it either way in October but I like our chances.  I would love our chances even more in the Minnesota Dome in February after the 40 year old statue takes another year of wear/tear.
