bandwagon fans huh? lmao!  If you "fans" had any clue, you would know that we took over your stadium in week 2 last season. I just like to cross enemy lines to see what kinda bs you guys are talking about. Serious question though...do you really think your team is that much more talented than SF? If so, keep thinking that and please come find me after week 1. Any.Given.Sunday.

OK let's just look at the playmaker positions right here. QB, RB, WR, & TE. I know there are other intangibles out there as well but for the most part these are the players that put points on the board other than the Kickers.

QB: Cam Newton >>>>>>>> Brian Hoyer

RB: Christian McCaffrey/Jonathan Stewart > Carlos Hyde

WR: Kelvin Benjamin >>> Pierre Garcon

TE: Greg Olson >>>>>>> George Kittle

Tell me which team has the better play makers that can put points on the board? Hell our Defense is also ranked way above the 49ers. The only thing the 49ers have going for them in week one is the game is being played in the Bay area.

After extensive analyzing of the 49ers depth chart I just don't see how this is physically possible..

their defensive front 7 is the strength but I don't see them lasting all 4 quarters.. also they just don't have the offensive fire power to go toe to toe with us.. I'm just a pro panther supporter tho..

You guys had a pretty good showing at our place last year. It's a shame you all didn't stick around for the end.

Ron Rivera does not have a good track record for opening games. The Panthers scored no more than 20 points in an opening day win (2-4... wins against Bucs and Jags). A loss would not be shocking. Riverboat Ron does not show up until he is in a hole.

How many home games have we had on opening day since he's been here? That might be part of the problem.

What if Gano misses a field goal and we lose by 3 or Cam gets hurt and we lose with Anderson as the QB .

Hard to stay positive with a GM who you can't trust to make good decisions

If Cam gets hurt, do you really think any of the other stuff matters? Joe Webb wouldn't make the slightest  difference in our chances if we lost Cam.

It is obvious what the team needs to do and that is to upgrade somehow(with a trade at Back Up QB) just in case. Will that happen I highly doubt it. The Kicker thing will be handled before the season starts. One of them will stay and the other will go. The thing is if you look at the Kicker Rankings by these so called experts they have Gano still in the top 10 on the NFL Network. I know, I know. But really with the state the Kickers in this league are in with guys like Gostkowski and Tucker at the top and then really the rest are you really going to get a huge upgrade at Kicker. I say go with the kid Butker because we have already seen what Gano has done and just give this kid a chance.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
