Curtis Samuel not in football shape yet

“I’ve been out for a while so the coaches wanted to see what I could do with the ball in my hands,” Samuel said. “I just have to make the most out of every target that I get.”

Samuel didn’t turn on the jets for any deep routes – and that was by design. The Panthers weren’t about to throw caution to the wind with Samuel’s hamstring. But he ran a variety of short patterns and was able to experience “game speed,” which takes some getting used to.

“Just getting back out there and running around a little bit, I can tell you I am not in (football) shape yet,” Samuel said. “But it’s coming soon.”

Understandable for a guy that has missed so much time. Hopefully his injury bug is long behind him and he can spend the entirety of the next two weeks getting ready for San Fran.

Do you feel he should play against Pittsburgh on Thursday?

Lol.

FYi, Lewis was a 1st round prospect before allegations involving DV popped up.

Your literally posting tweets of him running slant routes and calling him a deep threat

Jesus Christ, get some help

Micheal Thomas who many consider a slow WR caught more deep passes than Samuel. I like Samuel but he's not a deep threat at this point not even close.

Lol. You didn't watch them.

Maybe three of them have been slant routes. Most of them are him deep and wide open.

I've seen almost all his catches from since his 2014 season forward, he's  not a deep threat. You're straight up lying to yourself if you think he's a deep threat.

Devin Smith was a deep threat,  Micheal Thomas was more of a deep threat

    • He is basically having a polar opposite rookie season than Bryce. 4-3 as a starter on a very bad team.  68% for 237 passing yards and 19 rush per game. 9 TDs,  6 TOs in his starts.  and folks acknowledge the surprisingly play because no one thought poo of the random 2nd rounder and he is player better as a rookie thus far than so many prized picks did as a rookies (not just Bryce but a boatload of dudes).   It's only a sour issue to give someone props because he is a Saint and of course the Bryce thing.  It's like giving the TE in Clev props for having near identical production as the chosen one Tyler Warren.  Fannin is having a great rookie season in a very bad spot.
    • This is a very weird take. The reason Shough doesn't deserve it is because he's only started 7 games. He's doing crazy well for a rookie and out playing plenty of vets with a worse roster. He's waaay above league average in a number of categories during his starts and he passes the eye test in game by making plays. Meanwhile Bryce Young had one of the worst rookie seasons of all time. Still TMac deserves it more. It's only been 7 games for Shough so he doesn't deserve any awards. Even if he gets to 9 he doesn't.
    • There was a poster on here who had him ranked above Bryce in NFC South QB rankings. My jaw hit the floor lol
