Cutting Webb did not go over well in the locker room, per Joe Person

So are you going to cheer on your team or spend the next 16 weeks sulking over poo that has not even happened?

I always cheer for the team.  Forgive me if I hate to see this team take a huge step backwards, which will happen if Hurney is allowed to run the show and you know it.   I bleed Panther blue my friend and nothing will change that.  I'm just not happy with the people in charge at the moment so forgive me if I'm not as enthused at the current future outlook.  But I'm going to enjoy as much positive as I can in the coming season.  A lot can change when the GM search starts.

Aguayo went to Florida State.  Hint hint.

Butker was fantastic from 40+ in college and has been perfect in fanfest and live preseason action.

Infinitesimal chance he embarrasses himself enough to be whacked this season, but if so, better options are out there.

There is literally N O T H I N G worse than Gano based on a wide variety of reasons.

The relationship with Gano, the team, and the fans is TOXIC and like any toxic relationship, you BREAK IT OFF-worry about the consequences (that can't be worse) later.

I agree Butker is definitely our future, but most of you are making it seem like we're going to keep 2 kickers on the roster for the entire season. Week 1 hasn't even started, relax.

Because of their paycheck they should be able to get over it a little easier. Or they can resign and let someone else get their paycheck. Don't know about you, but a bigger paycheck would make it easier for me. Sure, it's all relative, but either way they need to move on.

it's a futile exercise to police discussions on the basis of a player's income. it's a great refrain in a bar conversation that gets everyone nodding but it's incapable of standing up to the slightest scrutiny when people are having honest conversations about a football team, which is why you rarely see it here

there were thousands of them, and besides they're two different and completely incomparable situations.

joe webb being cut doesn't matter. it's what his cutting - in the face of retaining DA and keeping two kickers - reflects in our demonstrably awful GM that matters for all of us

so rescinding the tag on an all pro corner and throwing 2 rookies out there to start wasn't an awful GM move as well?

Sorry it's now or never.  His absurd salary could cost us Norwell, Star, or DB help.  He's already ruined at least one season in week 1.  His stink is utter poison to this football team (and fans) that seeps into every crevice, causing distrust and morale issues at every level.

Workplace moral affects the efficiency and quality of work done in any and every environment. I mean it's the most literal example of a team environment with this.

It's worth noting But I can't see how this is a big deal. The vets got their check signer buddy back so they have to take the good with the bad.

The amount of money they make certainly matters, but ok then, throw out the salaries. They have jobs to do. I would tell them to get over it and move on, just like I would have before Gettleman was fired. Unfortunately, the state of our culture and the growing number of millennials coming up will worsen this idea that the feelings of players should be a strong consideration when trying to run a franchise. Heck if Bellicheat or Gettleman would have made the same move, no one would have been bashing them for it.

that players make high salaries is a given in the discussion and completely pointless to bring up. but i see you went and dragged them there millennials and their feelings into it so there's probably little chance of putting together a fruitful discussion. have a nice one
