  1. 1. Panthers finish 10-6, but just miss the playoffs. What do you do with the coaching staff?

    • Bring them all back
      8
    • Fire OC and/or DC
      42
    • Fire them all

Oh, well aware. And it's way past time to try something different. I'd target former OCs who are also one-time former head coaches. Second-time-around guys tend to do alright in this league.

Current OCs who have been head coaches once before:

Josh McDaniels, Todd Haley, Rob Chudzinski, Mike McCoy, Scott Linehan, and Pat Schurmar.

Just my opinion, but this would be a good place to start. Especially McDaniels and Haley.

McCoy is probably the only one that I could think of being a realistic option. He has a history here and was well thought of.

That said, the organization has only once hired a retread, and it didn't go well.

Just because that second-timer didn't work, doesn't mean they should close their mind to it forever. Worked out well for Belichick, Reid, Kubiak, Del Rio (so far), Vermeil, Dungy, Coughlin, Shanahan...

Some guys actually learn something about what not to do in the future. Seifert had nothing but success with a team someone else built. Not sure he really learned much about what not to do from that experience. His failures with the 49ers were pretty minimal.

I agree, but I'm not Richardson.

I realize he's only been our DC for a few games but why is everyone so high on Wilks? I get he carries himself like Denzel Washington but Ive seen nothing different than our defense under McD. Same soft zone coverage with the generic double A gap blitz and occasional corner blitz.

I just find it funny after one bad game against a very potent offense in the Saints who were 0-2 in a must win situation that everyone is ready to give up on this team and fire the entire coaching staff.

we're 2-1. every team has a bad game. Hell the Pats got roasted by KC. The Steelers lost to the Bills. The Raiders got steamrolled by the Redskins. Even the Ravens got completely annihilated and embarrassed by the Jags in London.

yes we looked bad against the Saints, but this is the NFL. I think most of us are spoiled after the 2015 season. To go 15-1 and absolutely manhandle both playoff opponents is definitely not the norm, it's an anamoly that doesn't happen very often in the NFL.

we all need to come back to reality and realize to assemble a juggernaut in a high turnover salary cap league is extremely difficult. Any team can win on any given sunday and that's been proven over the course of many years.

the Panthers will be fine this year. just need to take a deep breath and relax.

Right on Dawg ! If we miss the playoffs again with the talent we have, we need to clean house except for the defensive coach.  I would give him a little more time to get what he wants on the field.  If the new GM and Coach says no, then we say Ok.  This team does not know how to make adjustments at halftime and plays to conservative when we need to put a game away.   If Cam doesn't show improvement , he won't see a new contract . Richardson needs to get ready to sell this team and ride off into the sunset .  New ownership can put their own stamp on the team .
