Hornets vs Nuggets

Thoughts on the game:

1. Dwight controls the paint especially on the defensive side. Players stop driving and there are very few easy shots. It's nice to see.

2. Frank looked great again. Consistency is huge for him and he's playing very confident. I like that he feels like there is no bad shot. He's shooting threes, fadaways, up and unders, everything.

3. Love the rookies. Monk's shot started falling today and he can get some points quickly. Bacon is just solid. Good midrange, can knock down the three and can rebound.

4. Lamb is playing aggressive and is so freaking long. He makes difficult shots look easy.

5. JOB is my love/hate player. Loved him the past two games.

6. Kemba is our closer. Things were getting tight so he took over in the 4th.

7. MKG is back and even though he is not in playing shape we still need a player like him.

8. Can't wait to see this team with Batum, Cody and MCW back

we'll be a really good and deep team when we get healthy.

get Batum and MCW back healthy.

Zeller, Frank, Monk, Bacon and Lamb is a strong second unit. Johnny Obryant is really talented and we need to keep him fresh and out there when we can.

Got to get healthy and stay healthy and we may have something.

I hate to say it, but I want Lamb starting over Batum.  Batum was so bad last year, and honestly, Lamb has been damn solid.

Their games are not interchangeable - Batum is a facilitator who can usually look over his defender and see passing lanes very well.. He can guard all 4 positions (PG-PF) and also is a good 3 pt shooter (career .357%)..

Lamb is more of a pure scorer.. slashing and creating his own shot.. not very well mind you - but he can finish at the rim, good mid-range shooter and a decent 3 pt shooter (career .322% and currently .235%)..

Batum will be in there to get Howard easy buckets under the rim - find Kemba and Marvin in the corner or a slashing MKG (who is possibly our best finisher at the rim).. Lamb will be running the 2nd unit with Frank.. MCW will facilitate, Zeller will defend and clean the glass, Lamb/Frank will score and Monk should find his game (Heat Check!!!) in the midst of all that..

    • I hope not. 3rd-5th round QB's are historically awful. Most of the time that team is just drafting another QB in the first the following year. Look at the Saints, if they continue to suck this year they are just taking a QB. And if they do they just threw away a 2nd round pick that they just drafted. We did the same poo with Clausen, Greer, Pike, that guy we drafted a few years ago who is so irrelevant I forgot his name...  Just take a 1st round QB if Bryce isn't the answer and be prepared to live with it
    • This reminds me on Madden where you create an alternate uniform and the pre-recorded voice overs talk about how hideous your uniform looks. 🤣
    • There are people on this forum that just want to see a lot of passing yards....number go up. That's all it is, really. They are thirsting for a 350-400 yard game. The idea that Jameis Winston is going to come in and play like a star and lead us to wins is ludacris. He's the 3rd fuging string for a 2-5 team and has played horrible for years now. Sure, passing numbers will go up but you'll also get a lot of dumb plays, pick 6's, and incompletions en route to a frustrating bad offensive performance, just in a different way. I think these people are yearning for another Delhomme situation, and the odds of that happening are very very slim. It's way more likely Howell or Jameis comes in and looks like Jack Plummer or Andy Dalton did in the preseason. There just isn't that much good quarterbacking in this league right now. And if we draft another QB in the first round, there is a good chance they bust. It's not a guaranteed carrot. The reality is, as mediocre as Bryce has been, the risk of bringing someone else in in-season and releasing Bryce becuase you aren't happy with his current performance is staggeringly high. Don't want to re-up his contract and search for a solution in the offseason? Sure, I'm on board. Bryce hasn't been good enough to warrant a second contract. But It is very. very unlikely that bringing someone else in midseason is going to give this team more wins.
