Vernon Butler really set that sack up, his excellent push on the guard took the center's attention and left the lane wide open for Peppers.

Butler not only got the Cs attention. He also caused McCown to take his eyes off down field. Can't complete a pass looking at the rush.

Clay is fast, not Colin Jones “call him anything but slow” fast, but really damn fast.

Im excited to see him involved more.

My wish is for Shula to figure out a way to get him the ball in space. Man, him and CmC in both slots could be a thing of beauty. One of them could wind up on a LB. Can you say mismatch? I know, Shula.

Really really... really fast.

if he doesn't have enough chemistry with cam and cant catch footballs in game, this is a useless attribute outside of special teams. Thats been my beef with Byrd and Clay and still is until they prove me wrong.

Butler had a great game. Hoping he can keep it up. He's a beast.

i shot the poo with a former scout at a bar once

the main thing i remember was him saying the fast guys never look back, because they know they're gone.

i noticed that with klay on that punt return, like he wasnt sure if he was going to make it or not and looked back multiple times before he get to the end zone. Hate that poo. Just haul as much ass as you can and get tot he end zone. Youre naturally going to slow down if youre looking behind you while trying to run full speed ahead, anatomically you cant run top speed doing that.

God Clay is no where near a HoFer , but I was listening to Eric Dickerson one day and he said he never looked back while running and he very very rarely got caught from behind. The only time he could remember getting caught from behind was by Daryl Green who had legendary football speed

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
