For all of you who want to jump the gun without knowing jack. This man knows JR more than any single individual on this forum.

Cam isn’t the most eloquent individual but this was one of his most level headed interviews in recent times.

Richardson is already out of the day-to-day operations and the team is being sold after the season.

What gun is there to jump at this point?

As much as I want JR gone as an owner for the good of this franchise, JR is not a racist!

The man might have thrown the “N” word around. But who hasnt? Everyone has. And if you say no, then you’re a friggn liar.

Did I say most of NC was living 30 years in the past? Throw another decade on there for me.

I’m not on one side of the fence or the other about it because no one knows the facts despite what has transpired.

Its a tricky situation either way. I’d be scared to have any money or notoriety these days because it seems these alligations are a dime a dozen. That’s not to say it didn’t happen. Like i said, I don’t know. Just like the vast majority.

JR has his flaws as does everyone. It's ridiculous to crucify him based on these allegations. And that's what they still are---allegations. Until the full facts and truth come out (which it may never at this point), I will continue to think the exact same of JR as I did a week ago. Great man who brought pro football to the Carolinas, did a ton of other good for the community and was a tremendous owner for years, but who had started to make mind-numbingly stupid decisions recently and for the good of the franchise needed to go. I have tons of respect for the man and I will until there are facts showing any serious wrongdoing, enough to outweigh all his good.

Well, umm, maybe... Crucifying a man based on one report in today's tabloid media of allegations of minor wrongdoing... They are still allegations until facts come out, and what was in that article was really nothing bad at all, yet people are trying to tear the man down. A lot of the responses to JR so far are the definition of jumping the gun. Assaulting a man's character with really no information at all.

Hold I'm confused, if he paid them... how are they allegations?

    • Miller being less raw and more pro ready makes sense of why they picked him. With us having a capable starter in Walker the lower floor higher ceiling player makes sense for us as well. I agree with that.
    • I'm from Michigan and have had this discussion with my Lions friends, and they all agree with me, they were never going to take Freeling over Miller.  As, yes, you are correct, they could have left Sewell at RT and taken Freeling, but they are in a SB contention window right now. An OL with Freeling at LT and Sewell at RT is not as strong as Sewell at LT and Miller at RT would be for this upcoming season and likely at least next year as well. 5 years it could be looked back upon as a long term "mistake" to take Miller over Freeling, but for a franchise like the Lions, you can't worry about the long term when you have current SB aspirations.  It's all about maximizing their current SB window over the next 1-3 years. And it's not about style, it's about day 1 readiness, and a lot of "experts" aren't even sure if Freeling is ready to play Week 1 yet at the position he's used to, let alone switching to a side he hasn't played before, but a career starting RT is going to be more than ready to fill that role for them Week 1. I'm 100% convinced that if our draft positioning was swapped, we'd have still taken Freeling, they'd have still taken Miller, and both teams would have got the OT that they preferred due to what each team needs right now and what their current realistic aspirations are for the 2026 season. We're in a position where we can let our drafted OT sit and learn for a bit, they needed a week 1 starter, for me that's where this discussion becomes very easy to understand why each team took the player they did.
