Cam’s take on JR

Today society sexual harassment can be anything. People are money hungry and just going insane w/ all of this. If you took money you got your justice, apparently it was what you wanted or you would have spoken out before. If you have waited over 10 yrs why even name names at this point most evidence is lost. . And then there are false accusations that are put out there...Most women have at some point have had some comment made to them that was not wanted...I personally don't want to hear about sexual harassment over 10 20 yrs ago...but those who have it recently please speak up and let' s go from there.

Benefits of Settling a Case

There are many benefits to settlement of a legal dispute or lawsuit, for instance:

  • Expense. Trials involve attorneys, expert witnesses, extensive depositions during the discovery process, travel, and time. If a case settles before going to trial, many of these expenses can be significantly reduced or eliminated altogether.
  • Stress. Settlement may reduce some of the stress that a trial can bring on. Besides the anticipation of the unknown result to come, both sides of a lawsuit might fear getting on the witness stand and telling their story to a judge and jury, then being subject to cross-examination by the other side's attorney.
  • Privacy. Details of a civil case can be kept private when settled. When you take a case to trial, the court documents become a public record, and anyone can look at them, unless the judge orders the records sealed. When you settle a case, most of the details are kept out of the court documents, and aren't a public record. Many settlement agreements also incorporate a confidentiality clause.
  • Predictability. Any trial lawyer will tell you that a jury's decision isn't the easiest thing in the world to predict. By contrast, you can dictate the terms of your settlement agreement, or at least work with the other side to come up with a deal you can both live with.
  • Finality. The losing party can appeal a court judgment, dragging out the process even longer. Settlements can't usually be appealed.

As much as I want JR gone as an owner for the good of this franchise, JR is not a racist!

The man might have thrown the “N” word around. But who hasnt? Everyone has. And if you say no, then you’re a friggn liar.

You are a typical racist, perverted republican. You have made many posts stating that. You are disgusting like the rest of your people. I have never said the N word in my life actually. For someone like you that has probably grown up in a family that probably throws it around like the rolls at the dinner table, I know that is very hard to believe.

Us fans for the most part, don't have a relationship with Jerry Richardson. So when these allegations come out, it's all to easy to pull out the torches and pitch forks, because there is zero connection. That how so many fans already had a negative opinion of the man, cause we simply don't know the man. It's human nature to assume the worst.

With that being said.  Cam has a relationship with Richardson. Most Panthers players do. Richardson has ALWAYS taken pride in not just knowing his players, but their families.  I promise that Richardson is one of the most influential and greatest man in our players/coaches lives.

They will not turn their back on him as fans do. It simply won't happen.

Well, the NFL is continuing it's investigation, sooo...

“The NFL” just handed Thomas Davis the WPMOTY a 2 game suspension after sitting idle on several fist fights and other various cheap shots.

The NFL should investigate its own consistency before sticking their nose into something that can be handled in House.

Well, umm, maybe... Crucifying a man based on one report in today's tabloid media of allegations of minor wrongdoing... They are still allegations until facts come out, and what was in that article was really nothing bad at all, yet people are trying to tear the man down. A lot of the responses to JR so far are the definition of jumping the gun. Assaulting a man's character with really no information at all.

You do know that SI had copies of some of previous agreements and these allegations are based on some pretty airtight evidence. You may also notice when faced with the evidence, Richardson almost immediately stepped aside from day to day operations. It’s not like this was the National Inquirer or Fox News.

Just like I already said.

People don't just kick to the curb their friends and family when they do something wrong(or no one would have friends or family)

Rivera said the same thing, Smitty probably will say the same thing. Olsen...etc...some words said to other people doesn't undo what someone has done for you.

I think there’s a lot of men on this board that are nervous that the tide may be turning when they can’t get away with the godawful way they treat women.

Not one bit. We are a bunch of middle class lazy fat fuggers who lay on the couch and drink beers and liqour on Sundays watching our Panthers play. Yelling at our wives to bring us more beers and liqour and telling them to shut the f-ing up bc we are trying go watch football. And tell our wives to clean the damn mess up after the game is over. Thats it. Like I mentioned, we’re not billionaires.

    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
    • Because he won't be here next year, we aren't winning this year and we need to see if Renfrow or Horn can be that guy going forward. If Bryce isn't good enough to do poo without AT we need to find that out this year as well. I'm fine keeping him but his role needs to be slowly reduced throughout the year anyway so we know what we have for the future
