Woof. Injuries and trades certainly played a part in this unit but that right there is why every playoff game will be an uphill battle. Teams will sell-out to stop the run, put their best corner on Funchess, and one of three WR’s who wouldn’t be on many other rosters in the NFL are going to have to play out their minds and step up. Need to address this position in free agency in a big way this off-season. That is ugly.

The fact that we are 11-4 with those guys and without Olsen most of the year is pretty incredible.

7 years... and we still have the same weaknesses on offense

So pathetic

And that’s mostly on Gettleman, but Hurney gets some blame as well. Man, I hope the new ownership group hits it out the ballpark with our front office picks. Front office has been holding us back too long.

Losing Byrd sucks, as he’s looking like he can be a solid #3 guy

We've tried, through 2 GM's for that matter. For whatever reason, we just haven't been good at evaluating WR talent.

They haven’t tried one bit.

Never once do we just sign a legit WR and there’s been so many chances.

Instead we draft guys like Funchess and Samuel and sign people like Shepard and try to turn them into WR’s

The people in charge think they’re outsmarting everyone when in reality they’re morons.

I was fine with letting Ginn walk because I felt we maxed out his potential as a player and it still wasn’t good enough to get us a SB (that’s what this is all about, SB’s). However, instead of signing a real WR we took Ginn’s money and gave it to freaking Russell Shepard... like what?

Anyone who wants us to sign someone off their couch and try to plug them into a lineup on Week 17 is a goddamn idiot. Of course we have to roll with what we got, we have no choice. After QB, WR is probably the hardest position to integrate into an offense, even with an entire offseason to do it, let alone a few days.

Injuries happen.

Remember when the Giants lost their Entire WR core in pretty much one game?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think they really signed anyone. Just bumped guys up from PS.

On top of all this, what WR available right now will bolster or better or WR core on top of having to learn the offense and build chemistry with Cam. This isn't Madden.

Sucks but it's the hand we're dealt.

Philly Brown, while certainly not a great receiver by any stretch of the imagination, is better than anyone we have other than Funchess.

Yes but the difference is we’re going to the playoffs while the Giants were in tank mode

I hate this news.    Byrd was fast and had better hands than Ginn had when he was with us.  Few of  us predicted Byrd  to have as good a season as he's shown.  Clay has shown flashes, he'll have to step up.  Berson has exceeded expectations with his flip catch against Minn.   Shepherd needs to step up.    Maybe two tight-end set with Olson and Dickson?

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
