Linebackers Intensity is lacking?

The LBs use to pride themselves in stopping the run, but lately they have been lacking the energy & discipine.

I believe they are the X-Factor to winning this game, instead of reacting to the offense they need to be ones setting the tone.

Luke is having an off year, combined with the fact that Wilks is blitzing Luke way too much. 

Im fine with blitzing TD since he has a knack for getting sacks but Luke needs to be in coverage.

Wilk should only send one person for the blitz. Most teams have adjusted & are dumping the ball off when sending multiple players.

Exactly, they aren’t playing up to their standard. The 2013 Saints game in the rain was epic performance.

defense is over penetrating, qbs just toss right over them.  They need patience.

I really don’t understand the tendency of blitzing Luke. He’s so much better in the middle of the field diagnosing. By blitzing him, you are also taking away the guy who leads our team in interceptions out of another opportunity. 

If your going to send someone send TD or Cap.

Luke has had an off year but by far has still been one of our best defender in the run and pass game. The key to the game is making the Saints one dimensional. We have to stop the run  and force the Saints to make mistakes. If the offense just doesn't lose the game for us I think our defense can have a huge day.

loved the way TD ran down Freeman on multiple occasions last week. He looked fast and agile, like the week off really paid dividends. 

Gonna definitely need another performance like that next week against Kamara and Ingram.

I comfortable about stopping their run this time. Guys haven’t been out of place in the run game of late.

You can’t be serious. The defense is the only thing keeping us in games. The offense is constantly putting their backs against the wall.

Talent has compensated for Wilks bad scheme against most of the teams we have played, but Payton and Brees see right through it.

The reason Luke and TD aren't dominating like usual is because Wilks system has the LB's practically hugging the line of scrimmage pre and post snap, as opposed to having them playing back from space. I prefer Mcdermotts style of letting the LB's play back, read the play and flow to the ball which TD and Luke dominant at.Instead Wilks plays them up on the line, and usually gives Kuechly a gigantic gap assignment where he has to take on more blocks. 

I also can't stand how Wilks has the LB's blitz or shadow the RB's on pass plays instead of letting them drop back into deep zones and then fly up and make the tackle on the check down throws. I miss seeing on 3rd and 8+ Luke and TD drop back to the first down line, give up the check down pass and then come up and make the tackle short of the first down. 

Wilks seems like a really cool dude with a lot of respect from the players, and I think he will make a good head coach but I personally can't stand him as a coordinator.

The sad truth is that TD has lost a step. He's just not the same player he's been the past few years. I thought he had one of his better games against the Falcons and having the prior week off probably had a lot to do with that.
