Per the original agreement with the Panthers, permanent seat licenses are tied to the uptown stadium, not to the team. “Licensee has the right and obligation to purchase the related season tickets for all home games ... for the franchise for as long as the team plays in the Stadium,” the original agreement reads.

That means that if the Panthers leave Charlotte, PSLs would expire, according to Max Muhleman, a Charlotte sports consultant who helped create the PSL concept that funded Bank of America Stadium. Today, PSL holders own about 62,000 seats, making up almost 90 percent of Bank of America Stadium.

This PSL owner (and countless others) would go from a Panthers fanatic, spending untold $$$ on tickets, merchandise, food, etc. to a fan of any team playing the Panthers, while finding something else to do with my time and money.

Any talk about a new stadium is simply something for reporters to talk about and then for leverage by any new potential owners for other things they want.  Because there is NO need for a new stadium.  Despite it's age, Panthers stadium was built in the more modern era way and that is it has the money generating suites and club seats (which there are a lot and the biggest main reason owners want a new place.)  The club section even has their own very nice inside concession and lounge area.

Finally, overall the stadium still has a nice look, in a great location, and plenty of room inside to add other money making amenities a new owners would want.

Again, any talk about a new stadium is simply that .. something to write about and eventually leverage for new owners to get other things they want.

The issue will also be, new domed stadium will cost more money even if it is reachable from Charlotte

i pay enough now and will be done with another large price increase so all the people who complain about PSL owners, step on up and buy tickets

Can kiss those home sellouts good bye too that enable those home games to be broadcast

in essence, even if I wanted to sell the license now, can't do it

The odds of the team moving are about as close to zilch as you can get. The owners are greedy old pricks, they aren't going to move a proven commodity in a profitable market unless there is something a hell of a lot more profitable on the horizon. Right now that doesn't exist.

As for the PSL's, I'm going to be brutally honest, it's hard to have much sympathy, you all should have seen this coming from ol' mister jerry. He's always been about lining his pockets.

    • It's definitely a historical issue at QB but to be perfectly blunt, we also don't do a good job of really developing almost any position if you look at the last decade or so. I tend to be on the side of that being far less a development issue than an evaluation deficiency.  I think we are in the situation at QB2/3 recently due to the overall roster being absolutely abhorrent and the QB classes being quite thin. It is harder to justify another Matt Corral(or several) when you can potentially get a real two deep contributor at other positions.  But, it was a lot of hard work to get to the point where are roster is so incredibly bad that luxury picks literally are not in our vocabulary.  This is the reaping what you sow portion of our history.
    • That is what I meant about our front office. They are like someone filling out a March Madness bracket based on preference of uniform colors and mascots. There's no rhyme of reason to some of these fugg'n mind numbing decisions they make.  They go all in on these flimsy-@ss prospects and are gun shy when it comes to more solid prospects.  It's literally maddening and the reason I stopped being so emotionally involved in this team. Heck the only reason I'm active on the board today is one, it's my day off and two, it's cut down time.
