Panthers giving Ron Ron a two year extension

I want to know what coach all of you think we could get that is better than Ron. No college coach is out there worth a crap and your not getting some of the top ones. Plus college coaches that come to NFL always suck. So I'm guessing y'all want a coach that is getting fired from the other sucky teams. This site has become garbage, and needs to be changed to fake fans of the Panthers.

If we lose badly to the Saints, there is no reason to keep Shula .  Anyone would see that a change has to be made .  If we win and go on to a good run , then Shula should get a contract . the new GM will have enough challenges with Charles Johnson, Stewart , Turner , and Kalill  and maybe Peppers leaving.

Ron deserves it.  His players play hard for him and he's shown results.  We're very fortunate to have stability at HC.  In fact the teams performance this year may have kept the team in Charlotte.  If the Panthers had a losing year.....there would be a lot more storylines about the Panthers moving when they're sold.  So thanks Ron....for everything you do...and doing your part to keep Carolina in the Carolina Panthers.

Absolutely

This made no sense to extend him now.

Why not wait till after the playoffs and after we get our new owner. Let the new owner set his vision and see if Ron falls in line with that vision.

Because then Ron isn't guaranteed to get paid.

Coaching contracts are fully guaranteed. By doing this now, Richardson guarantees that Rivera gets a nice payday regardless of what the new owners decide.

Outside of keeping them in the Carolinas to guarantee his legacy, Richardson really doesn't give a crap what the new owners vision is.

I'm not a big fan of RR, 3 winning seasons in 7 years shouldn't be considered the mark of a great coach.  Ron's not terrible, he's just not great.

The timeline for transfer of ownership makes replacing Ron prior to the end of the 2018 season a difficult proposition without creating even more chaos.  This move provides some continuity and stability in tumultuous times.

Waiting for the new ownership and GM to determine Ron's future makes total sense.

Who gives a poo what that old fraud wants. He is no longer relevant in the NFL.
