I hated DG but even I can’t help but think JR’s fingerprints are ALL OVER that Kalil signing

Was just so uncharacteristic of DG. DG shouldn't have been a cheap bastard and should've paid Whitworth, Teddy and Josh, but even he isn't stupid enough to sign Kalil (one of the worst tackles in the league the 3 seasons before we signed him, worse than Remmers) to that large of a deal. JR wanted his family extended a bit and got it. That Kalil deal could not have been any more uncharacteristic of DG. fug JR, terrible owner, glad to see him go. Just hope the new owner isn't another terrible owner, which is a distinct possibility.

Time to revamp this team for real.

Kalil we can cut after next season. No reason to not find a new LT this offseason.

Star or Norwell pick one. I pick Norwell.

Draft a C to replace other Kalil

WR is a MUST. Funchess is good but he isn't great. Cam needs more help in the passing game. We need a bonafide route runner that has hands to go with it.

We need a young TE for Olsen to groom

Saftey has been atrocious for years now. Please get young safeties at both positions.

We need a young DE too.

That's a lot of needs

I think the OL we saw today is the same one that opens the season next season.

They sign Norwell with the intentions of cutting Matt the following year and plugging in Moton.

Ryan retires after next season as well and Matt goes on about his business elsewhere.

2019 we’re left just looking for a center and will then be needing to pay Daryl

How is that fair? When Ryan has been healthy he's been essential for this team.

I think more because he’s getting older and missed a lot of games and he’s a poster child of loyalty signings this team is known for that turn out to be a toss up.

He’s definitely a great player but I’m just pissed right now.

That wasn't a loyalty signing, it was signing arguably the best C in the league and the guy who calls all the protections and is the leader of the line and one of the few veterans on offense (at the time, with just Cam and Greg). Injuries since the signing are the only minus, and there's no way you can predict that sh*t.

We will lose Norwell because of Kalil’s ridiculous contract and that makes me sad.

If we lose Norwell this o-line is going from pretty good even with the garbage can that is Matt Kalil to 6-10 season filled with disappointment. But I have a. feeling were gonna be able to resign him look at the cap I think we will be able to squeeze his deal out.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
