Dawson has extensive scouting experience and has interviewed for multiple GM jobs before (including the Panthers job in 2013). Right now he's working in Buffalo with Brandon Beane.

Well,  according to Scot,  Hurney is the selfless,  sacrificial type.  He'll realize that he isn't the best man for the job and bow out gracefully.

I am going to laugh my ass off when they actually do hire someone other than Hurney. Just to see how all of you backtrack on these comments about how you know exactly what is going on behind the scenes.

If they hire someone other than Hurney, I'll laugh my ass off too, but it'll be for happiness.

If that happens I will shout to the roof tops with joy.   I would be happy with the cheerleader run things until the new owners took over.  Just get Hurney out of the building.

I think actually in a perfect world, they should hire a new GM, and keep Hurndog on in an advisory role. He does know the team, but would not have the final say in anything important.

I'll take that deal with one slight modification: Hurney should have no say whatsoever on anything important.

Honestly, the smartest move would probably be to put him in charge of the PR department. That's where he actually excels.

Put him there and keep him away from the football decisions.
