Cleveland get's its PG - not Kemba

Looks like they tried to low ball us for Kemba and couldn't get it done - so they got the Lakers to bite instead:

CLE gets: Jordan Clarkson + Larry Nance Jr.
LAL gets: Isaiah Thomas + Channing Frye + 1st round pick (CLE)

Cleveland get's its PG and still holds onto Brooklyn pick. Good for them. LeBron still leaving....

Lol fug the Cavs still trying to get Kemba.  They have ONE asset that' even worth considering, and that would only be worth considering if they were looking to trade for Batum or Dwight...  Not Kemba.

Btw, I think the Cavs won that deal walking away.  Frye has to be close to retirement, that pick will be useless, and I hope he can, but idk if IT will ever be the same.  Both Clarkson and Nance can ball and are Lebron's preferred type of teammates...

When's the deadline,  4? I'd only accept a 2 team deal where we can dump the majority of money this off-season and get the nets pick.

Have to dump Batum's, and if I was them get rid of Frank to get Willy some time. Have to include Kemba. Not sure what they would send back now though. That first round pick would have to come with something else I guess. And I don't see it.

Thomas and Frye are expiring contracts, and moving Clarkson frees up more money. The Lakers just got themselves a lot of cap space.

Yeah I saw that, but I was just referring to tangible long-term production.

And with the way things have went for the Lakers the last few years, idk how much that cap spacwe will help if no one wants to come there, but we'll see.

    • That was always the fear, expectation, concern, etc, I had.  Someone showed a still shot from his pick last game and said it showed that the defender closed 3 yards on that ball in the last portion of its flight. I forget the number. 10 yards I think it said but that sounds extreme.  When guys are open by a step, any slowing down to wait for the ball lets the defender back into the play. That sort of stuff makes the margins so small… these NFL CBs are not slow.   It is a league that highly values foot speed; the 40 times and drill times are scrutinized down to the hundredth of a second when evaluating these players on both sides of the passing game. Receivers and defenders both.   My thing with his arm strength (or anyone’s) was always “why do you want to do that? Plus pay extra picks to put yourself in that situation?”. Asking for trouble.     I wish there was a way to measure velocity on the back half of a throw compared to when it left the hand. Or really get accurate reading of the flight time of a ball from the near hash to the sideline, 10 yards down the field. Because teams could use that info. I have always seen this as being a disadvantage with Bryce but it is beyond my ability to quantify it.   I think it would show what that arm strength is really about, a lot more than just measuring how much air can you put under it so it will fly as far as possible.
    • Who didn't see that coming....
    • Its a detriment if he can't play...as we are seeing.
