Did you miss the Ginn touchdown in the playoffs?

Did you miss the fact he is a sprite flipping teams that will pay him the most?

Look at the 6 patriot rings. Their business model works. That’s what gettleman was emulating. Hurney is just a good ol boy that does what ever JR tells him too. And he loves his nut kickers.

Bet he would hire you for pennies on the dollar to kick his said nuts.

If Gano can get $4-5 million on the market, I let him go and take the 5th/6th round comp pick all day long.  That is a no-brainer.

You can also let him test the market and he might find out he won't get the kind of contract he's expecting.

That's a gamble of course.

This is from 2016 but the 2nd most franchised position since the tag option was implemented = kicker. It's not as absurd as some want to think it is.

5 kickers were franchised in 2012 alone and the Ravens did wind up franchising Tucker as this article was speculating they would.

I can't speak for anybody else, but I don't think it's the position so much as the player. A lot of folks are still big Gano critics.

Fair or not, kickers get a lot of venom. Heck, there are still people here who hate John Kasay for the Super Bowl gaffe, regardless of how many games he actually won for us.

Some of that probably has to do with our current cap situation and the thought of losing guys like Norwell and Lotulelei as well.

Or it's just the the latest opportunity for unwarranted Huddle outrage.

This is the last cheap contract year for Funchess, Williams, and Shaq.  We will need to pay these guys or lose them in 2019 (this is the price you pay for competent drafting).  This is also Olsen's last contract year. Paying Gano instead of these guys is asinine.

In 2019, Cam, Kuechly, Turner, Short, and Addison will have a cap hit of 74m.  That leaves about 110m for 46 other guys, and that is excluding Matt Kalil's hit or 12m or his dead money hit of around 7m.

We need to find the guy that evaluates kickers and recommended Butker, let him find Butker II, pick him in the 6th, and don't piss him away for nothing.  The thought of paying Gano 4m per in our situation gives me the sweats.

I get that, but...

...posts like this don't say "unwarranted outrage" to me.

    • I'm right there with you, brother. I've been a Panther fan since the day the team was awarded to the Carolinas.  We've had some good years, a couple of great years, as well as some low periods and no consecutive winning seasons. But I never thought I'd see such a period as we have over the past several years.   It has gotten to the point of being rather apathetic in watching them. In fact, I told my wife before the Miami game I was watching just to see what new and creative way they lose another game. And early on, it looked like they would. But damned if Miami wasn't more creative than the Panthers.   I'm now older than my Dad when he died (he was 65) and, like you, I've wondered if I'll ever see them have another winning season. I'd sure like to think I will.
    • again, I am not his employer, I dont follow his stuff or read any of it including social media, but he has been employed long enough where someone thinks he is doing a good job, not disagreeing he isnt an moron but I am not calling for anyones job for being a moron when it really doesnt affect me
