Kenny Moore

is anyone else baffled by the teams lack of confidence in this kid. I call it a lack of confidence because i don't know what else to call it. Most of us saw flashes in the preseason. He should have been the kick returner at the start of the season, and even after his game-changing performance on Sunday, John Fox still won't hand over the job. i wouldn't mind seeing him more involved in the passing game as well. He reminds me so much of Steve Smith.

He is a rookie. What NFL coach ever has confidence in a rookie. And fwiw, he didn't look that good at first in returning kicks. I think he will improve with experience.

Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin, Jim Caldwell, Jeff Fischer, Mike Shannan, Brad Childress, Mike Smith.

did i miss anyone?

There is a huge difference between having confidence in and deciding to play the best athlete at a particular position. Fox has played rookies before. Peppers and Otah come to mind. He might not have had confidence the way he might in a veteran, but he played them and let them make their mistakes.

And fwiw, Moore is returning kicks, so obviously the coach has some confidence in him.

As far as starting, well I am a Wake Forest fan, and I love seeing Kenny play, but even I would not have him supplant Moose or Smith.

Moore has speed but needs confidence. He certainly earned a spot on the active roster as a returner. Might mean he is used as a receiver, at least he will be available. He could blossom into a threat. If not, Jackson is on the practice squad right behind him. I would like to see Goodson get reactivated and see what he can do. Hopefully he will be cleared to play. I didn't see him on the injury report as of Friday night. I guess we will find out soon.

    • Aggressive runner, hits the hole fast, and runs angry.  Just a few yards shy of the single game record for the team.  Absolutely phenomenal performance.  If the gameplan hadn't become weirdly pass heavy for the 3rd and first half of the 4th quarters he might have been flirting with 300.
    • I felt that way before the season started, but I'm sorry, he's already proven he isn't that guy, I don't need to learn anything more about him. He threw the ball 30 times today and could only throw for 198 yards, which was his 2nd best yardage game this year, he's just not the guy. Which means this season has already moved onto the 2nd most important thing going into this season after evaluating Bryce, and that's developing our best young players. You don't do that by only throwing 8 of your 30 passes to your best player who is still only a rookie.  Pepper him with targets and help develop him so he's ready to take a huge leap next year when we get a real HC and QB to get him the ball.
    • Every win comes from a non-sustainable source.  As CRA mentioned, Penix absolutely imploding against ATL, and then today, defense finally clicked and looked the best they’ve looked in a long time (and still have up 24 points lol) and Rico ran for 200+ yards.  We’re not going to get that every week, especially against good teams, which neither Miami or ATL are.  Both MIA and ATL are bad teams and Bryce still couldn’t get it together.  The defense (and team) had to overcome 14 points because of his turnovers again.  That was not even an average QB performance.  We are winning in spite of him.
