It's that time of the year for me.

I wouldn't mind him but he isn't a great blocker. Hurst is the total package blocking and catching. That's what we want in this offense. Does nobody remember Olsen and Shockey. Cam's best year passing? Also we haven't shown any interest in him so that usually means no.

You keep proclaiming 2011 as Cams best passing season? This is a joke right?

Nope look at it 2015 was a fluke with that offense. If u got back to 2011 he had 21 passing tds and 14 rushing tds. He passed for over 4,000 yds never done that. Also he had completion percentage of 60  percent, and that was his second best.

So passing yards and completely ignore INTs. What does rushing TDs have do with anything? I would think the 14 extra TDs PASSING that he had in 2015 would be more relevant. But hey, whatever helps the agenda, have at it.

Can't wait to see your reaction when they say Hurst is the 24th pick. You think Sanjay/Ace Aladdin is bad, you will be in for a rude awakening.

What reaction? I'll shrug and that'll be it. Then I'll hope that he becomes as good as Olsen and that we don't miss a beat when Olsen hangs up the cleats.

People like you struggle to understand how real fans think. We always ultimately hope that the moves we make prove to be what's best for the team even if they're not the moves we would've like to have seen at the time.

You don't understand. Cam's second best passing season is his best because his "best" was a fluke.

Hurst makes sense.  He can make an immediate impact giving us a versatile offense with two tight end sets.  He's tough, he can block and has very good speed and wants to prove himself - he ain't messing around at 25 years old.  He will immediately benefit our offense more than any other offensive player available when we pick.  I looove Moore, but the more I think about it, with the additions we've made at WR in the offseason (a very effective band aid) we will be better at WR next year.  A two tight end set will benefit McCaffrey a lot.

Thank you. Finally someone else gets it!

Why hold such reservations about Hurst? Dude is a tool box tight end, he does everything well, he is used as an h back, tight end, slot receiver, tackle, etc. Greg Olsen is an injury prone 33 year old that has threatened the team with retirement. Taking the best tight end in the draft by a fairly large margin makes a ton of sense, it's not like he wouldn't see the field, he would see a ton of snaps.

If Harold Landry falls to us and we draft Hurst I might drink straight through Sunday

I'll be right there with you. Landry is my favorite player projected to go in the back half of the first round.

The issue with Hurst is his age, and its a legitimate concern. If you draft him in the 1st he'll be 30 yo when his 5th year is up. Then you have to decide if at his age you're going to pay, what will likely be Hurst' only and largest contract. Paying top dollar for a 30 yo TE is far from ideal. So do you draft someone in the 1st who you may only have for 5 years??

    • I dont think that is worst case at all.  Worst case is Bryce is exactly like he was the last ten games and not really showing anything, making a decision hard.  If we suck this year there are like 5 potential franchise guys that should be coming out this year.
    • Bryce's play after coming back from his benching gives me a glimmer of hope but it's wild that a lot of Panthers fans are acting like he has arrived as a franchise QB because he put up some mediocre stats and basically simply just finally didn't look like a guy who flat out did not belong on an NFL field.  I'm anxious to see what he looks like this year and I'm hoping for continued growth but I still haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that he's capable of being a high level starter. Hoping he proves me wrong but honestly the worst case scenario would be that he comes out this year and plays like he did late last year. That's purgatory QB level. The type of guy who organizations get led to believe might be "good enough" but you're not competing for SBs with that level of QB play. I want Bryce to boom or bust this year. Go out there and prove me wrong and look like THAT DUDE or just revert back to looking like he doesn't belong. Don't leave me in purgatory. Let's get an answer to this question one way or the other.
    • Absolute worst case scenario for us is we suck, ignore the 5th year option, and draft a new QB onto a team that is pretty well built.  That being said, I think Bryce is turning a corner this year.
