What is Hurney's plan?

Hopefully something similar to how Gettleman addressed it. Plug some holes with middle of the road to low tier FA in preparation to go BPA in the draft.

This is what left us with glaring holes at many positions.

I'm not a fan of Hurney, but he really hasn't done anything this off-season for me to panic.

1)We still have 4 picks in the 1st 3 rounds.

2) A CB that most of us weren't high on has been traded away for a WR who played well down the stretch for last year's Superbowl winner. Tory Smith has played on 2 SB winners and should be a strong veteran presence on a receiving corp that is still awfully young.

3) He realized that bringing back Norwell and Starr would be a bad moves cap wise and wisely decided to let them leave and get over paid by other teams.

4) J.Stewart, Kurt Coleman, and Charles Johnson were released which should allow us to replace them with more productive and younger players.

5) He seems to realize that we have holes at RB, S, CB, DE, OL, and that still need to be addressed.

Now comes the hard part. He has to prove that he knows how to replace the roster parts he's removed with a solid draft and some wise free agent acquisitions.

Im starting to get worried that Hurney is about to ruin the core of this team. We are on the verge of losing both Norwell and Star, and with very little capspace to make a impact signing.

When you sit back and look at reality, we are weak at multiple positions DT/DE/DB/S/WR/G/RB.

Going to be an interesting week for Mr.Hurney, we shall see the end result.

That’s why I am for trading down our first round pick for a high second and some other picks.  We have a bunch of holes and no cap room to really make a significant dent in them. Trade down and get maybe DJ Moore or Sony (Or S,DE,orCB) that could start. Then we might have 2 second round picks and Three 3rd round picks.  Then we could fill some of these holes effectively.

Hurney and everyone else are on their way out once this team is sold.  They're all going to try and go out in style and win the Super Bowl.  Don't be surprised if you start seeing future draft picks slung around in trades.

Watch him trade this  year's #1 and next year's #1 to the Colts to move up for Chubb, DE if Peppers does not sign.

FA nor The draft has happen.. Go for a walk go out and get a drink go relax... No need to push the panic button now.

The draft is not going to solve all of our needs. At most we will probably get 3 starters out of the draft. And Hurney draft history is not very good.

As for FA, we don't have much cap room, so how do you expect for us to get some key talent with limited money?

Like I said by the end of the week, we will really get a better picture of what his plan is. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Dude do what you want ..  Panic go emo.. Act like there is no hope all you want.. FA hasn't even started the draft hasn't happened.. There is just no need for a OMG thread right now... We got enough money and enough draft picks to make some Solid moves...

Gettleman would have handled Olsen and TD differently.

He would have not had two kickers and would probably have not signed Gano again.

At this point Gettleman would have most certainly asked Kalil to take a pay cut or cut him. Maybe used that money for Norwe. A pure business decision.

Not saying Gettle would have made better decisions as that is yet to be seen but it would have been a lot different.

Pretty sure Hurney knows that if he screws this up his career as a GM is over, because nobody else will be calling him. I believe he’s going to do everything he can do w/o putting us in a bind going forward.

Would like to see him cut ties with Kalil, that money is sorely needed elsewhere.
