Jake is on pace to throw 32 picks this season, team on pace for 54 turnovers

If they keep that pace up for the remainder of the season, Jake will wind up near the top 3 most picks thrown in a season in league history and the team will wind up near the top 3 for most turnovers in a season in league history.

Most turnovers in a season:

63 San Francisco, 1978

58 Chi. Bears, 1947

Pittsburgh, 1950

N.Y. Giants, 1983

57 Green Bay, 1950

Houston, 1962, 1963

Pittsburgh, 1965

Most interceptions thrown in a season:

42 George Blanda, Houston, 1962

35 Vinny Testaverde, Tampa Bay, 1988

34 Frank Tripucka, Denver, 1960

It's a shame that, as the rest of the team continues to get their act together, the passing game is right there with Oakland and Cleveland as the worst in the league.

It's time to make a change. The main thing I saw today is that we can win without Jake Delhomme. Jake was only a marginal contributor to this victory today. Any QB could have done what he did. So if that's the case, why leave him in? Honestly, how much of a dropoff could there be by going with Matt Moore?

And who knows, with an injection of youth, maybe this team could make some noise in the second half of the season.

I tell you if Delhomme has a game like this next week and we lose, then he will not be the starter much longer. Even Fox couldn't justify that.

Matt Moore is the future as of right now(until we trade for Quinn or draft Tony Pike) and he can't do any worse.

Thank God we have a talented D and Double Trouble.

P.S. When your QB is playing worse than that horrible, no good, very bad QB in Oakland, you know you got a problem!

The Panthers would be right there with the top teams in the NFL if we just had a QB. Delhomme isn't going to magically become the QB he was 6 years ago. He's gotten old and everyone knows it, even John Fox. Deangelo and Stewart are nasty, and we still have Steve Smith, who has got to be frustrated. Steve is getting up there in age too, and the Panthers need to squeeze another great year out of him this year.

Overall, I'd say Delhomme is finished, but the Panthers aren't. The defense could make adjustments and be BETTER at least, and the running game is still right there with anyone in the leauge. The schedule gets brutal down the stretch, but these easy games have at least given us some hope...

I'm glad Steve Smith only had 1 catch today. That means Jake is trying other options. (FINALLY!) Too bad the tip drill still continues with his INTs. He's just not getting enough arc on those balls. It's no wonder he liked to loft them up there.

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
