Does DJ Moore mean we cut Russell Shepard??

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't see Byrd as an NFL WR.  If we cut he he'll never play another down just like Philly Brown. And Philly Brown is better than Byrd!

Shepard is one of the most underrated players on the team and has never really gotten his due. (Also, please don't make my Shepard jersey obsolete after one damn season.) Genuine talent. But yes, this move means that Shepard is done here.

I don’t know that Byrd will make the 53; I don’t know how much of a chance he will actually get. But he showed too much last year to make it to the PS in my opinion. Maybe I’m wrong, but I think he’d be claimed once he hits the waiver wire.

Torrey will not be cut under any circumstances, and Rivera repeatedly mentioning that Moore also has special team ability puts Byrd roster niche in jeopardy. Those things are clear as day

Smith is perfect for being the vet deep threat , hes also quite simular in size to DJ Moore and could teach him alot.

I hope so. I just don’t trust Smith as much as some others. He caught less than 50% of his targets for his entire career. I haven’t paid attention, so perhaps that’s do to poor scheme or QB play. I just want the best receivers on the field.

I get that people think I'm trolling with that - but I do actually appreciate Shepard - he could be a great tool in an offense run by a smart coordinator. As for the jersey, I own that for personal reasons. What can I say.

Why is everyone writing off Byrd??? He's more of a lock to make the roster than Smith. I expect him to get as much reps as any Wr not named Funchess

After Byrd got injured the second time the offense production dropped badly. That alone should open up your eyes. Byrd was beginning to be a threat on the field. Go back and watch the games when he came back. CMC, Moore, Byrd, Samuel, Smith, Wright speed package would be fire.
