Matt Ryan is the first $30 million per year QB

The market changes. Newton has been making less than what Matt Ryan was on his previous contract if I'm not mistaken. But my point had more to do with what he means to this team. No other QB in the modern NFL is tasked with being his teams leading rusher, let alone capable of carrying the team to the playoffs in that scenario.

Anyways. I suspect the only reason you quoted me was just to be a dick, but I'll give you a pass for it tonight since I'm feeling charitable.

He actually signed for $.01 million more than Ryan on total value lol. His team made it clear they wanted to beat Ryans deal.

All of the talk about what he's tasked to do is another topic. I was just commenting on how he's been compensated.

I'm not being a dick. I'm being genuine. I see it going on with Ryan right now as well. It's like fans have the need to make it seem like their players gave them a deal lol. Ryans getting paid. Cam got paid and will beat Ryans deal in a couple years when he signs. It's part of it. And there's nothing wrong with any of it.

Lol. Ryan’s gotten 4 different offensive coordinators head coaching jobs. Best player in Falcons franchise history.

Keep lol and talk up a overrated qb. Just like most in NFL. Overrated.

He could never lead a team of scrubs(except Olsen) on offense to top 5 offense like Cam and sb.

His mvp season came with one of the best ocord. Cam mvp cam with the worst ocord maybe in history.

Ryan is good but needs elite talent all around to survive.

You are correct, not sure how I forgot about that detail, poo happens.

I'm not bothered one way or another how much Ryan is being compensated at this point. My initial remarks were about how much our own QB means to this franchise. That's it.

Aaron Rodgers is next---30.1 mill with 100.1 million guaranteed (probably--it has become a pissing contest.  This makes it impossible for the average to good QBs--

At some point, this is going to be like the NBA--the QB is the GM and coach.

That was a dumb decision, Ryan depends on his WRs to carry his stats and is not on Bradys or Rodgers level.   Good thing I hate Atlanta because if I was a fan this thing would make me sick.

Just like WR’s depend on Ryan to carry their stats. It’s either pay Ryan or let him walk. Not a hard decision.

And Rodgers will be getting paid more than Ryan soon.
