When is the last time a new owner enjoyed success within the first 5 years?

I'll give you a hint...they don't.

The Bills made the playoffs this last season for the first time in 17 years. It was the third full season under new ownership.

He's been part of a team's ownership group prior, looks to be committed to NC, and doesn't look like a douchebag...so I think we're fine.  He looks more of a dick or asshole; I'm sure we'll find out.

Honestly, it was hard to really judge any of the guys vying for the team.  Wasn't worth getting invested in IMO (although much appreciate the updates/news feeds on it @Mr. Scot

check his ties with Toronto,  San Antomio and San Diego.  just throwing that out there.

No one wants the NFL in SD anymore.  No one, the residents, billionaires, city officials, it's dead.  The Clippers have a better shot at coming back than us being sent a franchise.  This place is amazing but a black hole for pro sports.

Go Gulls!

Cam has 2 years to show he can play in the pocket with accuracy and touch. We aren't going to pay 30 million a year to a quarterback in his 30s who is a running quarterback who can throw the ball. He like everyone else knows he needs to transition to a pocket passer who is mobile for his long term health. He can't keep taking a beating like he does.

2 years? We better not even think about getting rid of Cam over Rivera and i really mean that. This team has been relevant the last 7 years because of Cam from overall aspects.

Before you continue to troll people trying to engage in conversation with you, you'd be better off providing some definitions. So. How do you define 'success'?

Good point. However neither one of those cities are going to pony up cash for a stadium. Most, who look at the "threat" of moving (if they are rationale) know it would be beyond foolish to take the Panthers away from one of the fastest growing markets in the nation. To San Diego , that had more than enough time to keep the Chargers or San Antonio...on that point Bob McNair and Jerry Jones would fight tooth and nail to keep a third team out of Texas. ....basically nowhere to run.

You do understand the concept of "recent" I take it?  And Benson to Benson does count as does Rooney to Rooney.

Don't ever respond to one of my posts again.

You are one of those troll guys that post all the time on 20 different accounts right? There is only 3 owners on that list that bought a franchise and had your "5 years". That is an incredibly small sample size. Most of those are legacy owners. You made a dumb point and referenced dumb data.

FYI: Michael Jordan is out of the running. So is Jeff Bezos.

Just kidding.

They were never actually in the running.

Yea and pretty much all of you insider info was garbage.

Atleast I get my football prediction right......I know you wanted Shepard to stay on the team but I guess they like Byrd > Shepard.

The reality is that one day we will move on from Cam just like every team has to move on from one era to another. This is the Cam Newton era. How long it lasts depends on how Cam continues to evolve.  If by 2020 we haven't won a Superbowl maybe we need to move on. If that is the goal and we didn't reach it then we might need to move on. Being relevant might be fine when you have sucked before but the bar is raised. Cam has the weapons he needs to win it all. He has no excuses this year. Just getting to the playoffs isn't enough. If mediocre isn't enough for the team then Cam being a top 15 quarterback might not be enough either.
