I think the Suns would do this deal although I am not sure its worth it to us...Knights contract is pretty ugly and he is coming off injury...

Charlotte gets #1 and Brandon Knight

Suns get #11, Kemba Walker

I'm not sure the Suns would do that deal, Kemba and 11 isnt worth the first pick even if the Hornets take back Knights contract in the trade.

Best your gonna get for Kemba is around 14-16 in the draft without taking anything back. Reason you trade him is

#1. Not sure he's going to resign in Charlotte.

#2. You don't think he's worth a max contract.

#3. Signing him to a max contract limits the growth of the team long term.

#4. He's worth more now in a trade then he ever will be.

Disagree I think the Suns would definately discuss the idea of that trade.  They have a huge need at PG and they get an All Star plus a good player at 11.  Getting out of that Knight contract would be amazing for them.

Enlighten us with your break down of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and why in the world he can replace Kemba Walker.

I've never said I wanted that guy once. I did however say I prefer MPJ (Michael Porter Jr), if we were going to make a trade up to the Cavs pick.

i like Porter but I read there are concerns with his back long term.  Not sure its worth the risk.

I like Sexton a lot.  Dude is fearless like a mini Russell Westbrook.  Not saying he's on that level, but if he gets his jumper down, and learns to share the ball more he could be pretty damn good.  A lot of the mocks have him going earlier than 11 now so not sure he makes it anyway.

We have rarely seen a draft where the projected Top 10 are exactly taken as projected. There is always a player that drops like Monk did the last draft.

Definitely Gone: Ayton, Doncic, Bagley III, Jaren Jackson, Bamba

Most Likely Gone: Trae Young, Wendell Carter, Porter Jr., Mikal Bridges

Options at 11: Sexton, Miles Bridges, SGA, Knox, Lonnie Walker, Zhaire Smith, Robert Williams.

So my question if one of the Most Likely Gone players drop, would you take them over the other options at 11?

I think I would be extremely happy with Porter Jr. He would be my dream pick even with the back concern. Wendell Carter and Mikal would be BPA if they drop. The only player I couldn't see us picking would be Trae Young due to the size next to Monk. As for the other options at 11, I could really make a point for any of those players.

So what do you all think about Kevin Knox? I am starting to really like his potential. Also he could play either the 3 or 4 which would be very nice.

Got similar size to Tatum and Paul George but he wasn't as refined as a freshman as those guys but has the tools.

Knox is just another MKG

I really want Mikal Bridges

A athletic 3 and D wing to come in where the new head coach is from the Spurs system.

We Need someone who can hit a jumper besides Kemba.

Kemba, Monk, and Bridges starting together has some nice potential

I think Mikal will probably be off the board. If he is who are you looking at? My way of thinking is the following:

If we trade Kemba, find a way to get SGA. He would be a great complement to Monk. Or we could go the route of SG if we think Monk is our PG and get a guy like Zaire Smith or Lonnie Walker.

If we don't trade Kemba, I want to upgrade the SF, PF position. In that case I have been thinking Knox or Miles Bridges (less excited about Miles but think Mikal will be off the board).

No he's not.. Knox is a scorer with questionable defense.. MKG is a pure defender with no scoring amplitude..

    • I have considered free agency.  LT?  Either not good enough or too expensive.  Besides, this is a good OT draft.  (I would rather have a free agent, mind you, but the Panthers' reality suggests we can't do it without neglecting other positions).  What LTs are available in free agency, and what do you expect to pay?  Any Ickey-level OT is going to cost over $20m.   How much do we already have invested in our OL?  I get your point, but I do not think you can spend over $100m per on your OL. We have 2 guards and a right T who pull in about $75m per season.  We don't have a center yet.  Teams just don't let good LTs hit free agency, and when one does on rare occasion, he is expensive.  If you want a third of the Panther cap going to 5 Offensive Linemen, free agency is the way to go.  We still need S, ILB, Edge, WR, etc. I think we'd need more than Nijman--and I would understand if we went free agent for a T--but that is putting a TON of your cap at OL--so considering our situation, I do not see that option as preferable.  You may disagree. If I was not talking LT on our line and thinking about the cap, I would agree 100%.
    • Will be interesting to see how they come out tonight. The Boston game seemed to open the flood gates of media attention. And it’s not just that they’re playing well, in some instances they are getting compared with all time greats. This is still a young team, and it would be easy for an immature team to lose some focus, buy into their own hype, and think they can coast bit. The Heat are a middle of the road team without their leading scorer. There is no big dragon to slay, no big statement to make. I think we’ll learn a lot tonight: are they young but mature, or do they still have a ways to go mentally?
    • Panthers North for the win. Good luck to him. Great guy, hated to see him leave here, but he's about to work with the best QB he's ever worked with (at least on a regular basis).
