How would you rank D-lines?

D line and secondary will be on close watch this year. Weakest spots on the entire team. Weaker than Gano... as of right now.

I like Butler and the injury last August was a shame, but he’s still unproven.  

KK is good with the potential to be great but not elite or a future HOFer and probably overrated by most Panther fans.  His getting owned my Mack still irks me as does his inconsistency.  Poe’s injury concerns are unsettling as well.  

Star and Ealy were highly drafted defensive linemen and are now gone.

Mario is an OK specialist but moves zero needles outside of this fan base.  Hall and Haynes are projects.  

Peppers IS old by NFL standards, obviously.

Gregory McKarl Hardy is also gone but still 8.5 years younger than Pep and available.

Behind Luke, KK was our second most impactful player on defense. Without him, things would be a lot worse.

He definitely is elite.

We have a lot of unproven depth.

Step 1: The run defense has to get better still below Panthers standard.

Step 2: If you can do Step 1 then pass rush will be unstoppable.

If they had been polling interior DLines, then we would be in the top 5, but our DE's are woefully weak.

"But we had sacks".  Yes, and we blitzed over and over and over to try to cover up for our front 4's inability to do anything on their own.

Guess what.  They picked up a few sacks when we sent a LB and S, but our secondary was continually exposed.  Brees and several others took full advantage.

Peppers can be handled by one guy now, no use to double team him anymore. Past is past

You know what can help? Better coverage by the Secondary and LBs will lead to more efficent sacks.

You dont have to physically get him down everytime. If you can effect his timing and move him out of his spot or in mobile QBs case contain them then to me its like getting 1/2 sack lol!

I would take the opposite view.

Give Brees all day to pass and no secondary in history can be good enough
